Cobra Kai Reveals Johnny & Daniel’s New Dojo Lineups After Season 6

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Cobra Kai, season 6, part 3!Although Cobra Kai‘s ending focuses a little more on its more established characters, the Karate Kid sequel show also concludes by revealing which of the story’s less prominent figures continued with their training. Cobra Kai‘s big finale brings the show to a satisfying stopping point, but it also teases what lies ahead for Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) beyond the final scene.

Cobra Kai season 6, part 3,’s cast is a little more tight-knit than the show’s previous efforts. With a far more focused and pivotal story to tell as the Netflix show drew to a close, certain Cobra Kai characters were relegated to incredibly small roles in the final batch of episodes. That being said, many characters were afforded chances for a proper exit in Cobra Kai season 6’s previous two segments. Regardless, the show’s true ending remembers to address pretty much everyone after the Sekai Taikai’s conclusion takes much of the core cast away on new adventures.

Johnny & Daniel Retained 3 Of Their Best Students

Kenny, Devon, & Anthony all continued their karate training after the Sekai Taikai

Although characters like Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) and the other students her age leave Miyagi-Do to head to college, Cobra Kai doesn’t lose all its up-and-coming fighters. The show’s final episode reveals Kenny Payne (Dallas Dupree Young), Devon Lee (Oona O’Brien), and Anthony LaRusso (Griffin Santopietro) are still under Daniel and Johnny’s stewardship.

The shared experience of Kenny, Devon, and Anthony makes them the senior students across both dojos.

The demand to learn karate skyrockets after Cobra Kai‘s Sektai Taikai resumes in California after the tournament’s disastrous outcome at the end of Cobra Kai season 6, part 2. So, there is a huge influx of students desperate to train under the senseis, and the shared experience of Kenny, Devon, and Anthony makes them the senior students across both dojos. Everyone else seems much younger and is obviously far less experienced.

How Johnny & Daniel’s New Partnership Works

Cobra Kai & Miyagi-Do are now essentially the same dojo

Johnny’s departure from Miyagi-Do and his return as the Cobra Kai sensei don’t reestablish the bitter rivalry between him and Daniel. Instead, their journey together throughout all six seasons of Cobra Kai has led them to develop not only a deep respect for each other as people, but also for the respective style of karate taught by the other dojo. As such, all of Johnny’s students are now also Daniel’s, and vice versa. They’re all taught both styles of karate.

The Real Meaning Of Cobra Kai Series Finale’s Rocky References Makes Daniel & Johnny’s Ending Better

Daniel used the Rocky movies to give Johnny a pep talk at the end of Cobra Kai season 6, part 3, and this homage was secretly the perfect touch.

Cobra Kai‘s final episode shows the remaining trio of students in Cobra Kai uniforms, and also Miyagi-Do clothing in the same montage. In short, Johnny teaches them offense, and Daniel is responsible for imparting his defensive ethos. The students are also free to enter tournaments as a member of either dojo, as both senseis can be seen deciding who should enter the All-Valley, and for which dojo they should compete. While this could be seen as an unfair advantage over other local dojos, it does at least capture the perfect balance required for Cobra Kai to end.
