From star Elizabeth Saunders has opened up about Donna’s story in season 3, previewing what’s next for her and the pain she carries after being in town for so long. Donna is the leader of the Colony House, who have faced multiple threats from the creatures in the town since the very start of the show. However, From season 2 ended with her overlooking Ellis and Fatima’s marriage, while also worrying for the safety of her people. As leader, she’s expected to tackle any future obstacles that come their way in the upcoming season.

Speaking with Radio Times, Saunders, who portrays Donna, opened up about her story going into From season 3, explaining the level of pain she’ll have to deal with during the new episodes. The actor revealed how her character would break down in a way never seen before, teasing the town’s events making things more and more difficult as the series progresses. Check out what Saunders had to say below:

Donna has to hold it [together], not just from the Colony House perspective, but she needs to lean out a little bit, but she’s also maybe imploding a little bit. She has some breakdowns that are a different kind of level. They’re not the [angry] level. They’re they’re really painful for her. [Donna’s journey] is already at such a high when we arrive in series in season 1 [but] I feel like it’s getting tighter and tighter, like the grips are closing in on her – on everybody.

What Will Happen To Donna In From Season 3?

Will She Survive?

Although From season 3 is still maintaining much of its mystery, one key element involves winter arriving in the town, a phenomenon seemingly foreign to the town. With food scarce and people looking to her for answers, Donna is going to have to step into a more fortified leadership role in order to get her people through the difficult times approaching. But this newfound sense of responsibility also means more pressure, no doubt resulting in her feeling more alone in her struggles than ever before.

However, despite the dangers their new circumstances are going to present, the people of the town are likely going to be rallying together more than ever, potentially with renewed fervor to escape. While Donna might feel under pressure at first as conditions start to worsen, helping hands like Boyd and Jim can assist her during any times of turmoil she may face. While there’s still plenty of surprises the show could throw her way, it seems likely Donna will continue to survive as the Colony House’s figurehead, even as events get stranger and wilder.
