WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE GOLDEN BACHELORETTE SEASON 1!
The Golden Bachelorette starring Joan Vassos doesn’t premiere until September 18, but her final four men, including her ultimate choice, have been revealed. Joan, a 61-year-old private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, is a widow who was married for 32 years to her husband, John, who passed away in 2021 from pancreatic cancer. She’s the mother of four adult children, and the grandmother of three.
Joan got her start on Gerry Turner’s Golden Bachelor season. They were forming a deep connection, but she had to leave the show early due to a family emergency. Now Joan is ready to continue her journey to find love on The Golden Bachelorette season 1. With 24 men from whom to choose, including Bachelor Nation fan favorite Mark Anderson, The Bachelor season 28 winner Kelsey Anderson’s dad, Joan was certain to be successful. Here’s who Reality Steve says are her final four men, and which of them she chooses in the end.

Reality Steve Reveals The Golden Bachelorette Joan’s Top Four Guys
Mark Anderson Didn’t Receive A Hometown Date
In an Instagram post, Reality Steve revealed the four men Joan chose for her hometown dates, but Mark wasn’t one of them. Interestingly, Joan had the traditional four hometown dates while Gerry only had three during The Golden Bachelor. This could be because Joan began with 24 men, while Gerry started with 22 women.
For her hometown dates, Joan chose Chock Chapple (a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas); Guy Gansert (a 66-year-old ER doctor from Reno, Nevada); Jordan Heller (a 61-year-old sales manager from Chicago, Illinois); and Pascal Ibgui (a 69-year-old salon owner from Chicago, Illinois). After her hometown dates, Joan said goodbye to Jordan, leaving Chock, Guy, and Pascal as her final three men for the overnight Fantasy Suite dates. During The Golden Bachelor, Gerry only had two overnight Fantasy Suite dates.
One Golden Bachelorette Contestant Allegedly Self-Eliminates
He Wasn’t In Love With Joan
According to Reality Steve, after Joan’s overnight Fantasy Suite dates, she sent home Chock, leaving Guy and Pascal as her final two men. However, Reality Steve revealed that, from everything he’s heard, at this point in The Golden Bachelorette, Pascal self-eliminated because he wasn’t in love with Joan. This would mean that Guy was the only man left standing at the end of the show.
Hopefully, Joan felt the same way about Pascal, and his decision to leave didn’t ruin her journey. If Joan is still with Guy, it’s likely that she was going to choose him in the end anyway, so, hopefully, Joan and Pascal’s breakup was mutual. It’s better that Pascal left when he did, rather than possibly end up in a relationship or even engaged to Joan. The last thing that Bachelor Nation needs is another Golden breakup.
Who Won The Golden Bachelorette & Did He Propose To Joan?
Guy Gansert Is Joan Vassos’ Final Choice
Reality Steve revealed that Joan is currently in a relationship with Guy. However, he doesn’t know if they got engaged or not. However, based on Joan’s past comments about getting engaged and married during The Golden Bachelorette, it wouldn’t be surprising if she didn’t. The Golden Bachelor couple, Gerry and Theresa Nist, got engaged at the end of their season, and jumped right into marriage. However, they ended up announcing their divorce just three months after their Golden Wedding, shocking Bachelor Nation and causing immense backlash.
In an interview with CNN, Joan revealed that she wasn’t sure if she’d get engaged during The Golden Bachelorette because she thinks that people need time to get to know each other, instead of rushing into a proposal. She explained, “If it ends up in engagement, I’m open to that. I do believe this process works. I’ve seen it work for so many couples on The Bachelor, so I believe in the process.” Joan added, “If it ends up in engagement, that’s great. If it ends up in, you and I are going to get to know each other better in the outside world, that’s perfect also.”
Joan explained that it wasn’t just Gerry and Theresa’s divorce that would stop her from getting married right away even if she did get engaged. She said, “I probably won’t rush into a marriage right away – and not only because of what happened with Gerry and Theresa. I think it takes some time to really get to know somebody. Out in the wild, in the real world, you need to spend some time there.” Joan’s comments show how level-headed and rational she is, which will help her to make the right decisions on her Golden Bachelorette journey.
It’s wonderful to know that Joan found love at the end of her Golden Bachelorette journey. Her first attempt at her second chance at finding love was cut short when she had to leave The Golden Bachelor. Her selflessness was evident as she returned home to attend to her family, so she deserved another opportunity to search for her true love. She’s a beautiful person, both inside and out, and it’s heartwarming to know that she found what she was looking for. Joan was the perfect choice for the first-ever Golden Bachelorette, and, hopefully, she and Guy will live happily ever after.
