To beat Avenger Knight and Death Castle in Episode Aigis: The Answer, there are a few key things for Persona 3 Reload to keep in mind in terms of weaknesses, resistances, and strategy. A tough double-boss battle on the B20 floor of Antenora dungeon within the Abyss of Time is arguably the trickiest battle in the DLC so far. With that, your team needs to consist of the right members.
While these bosses are essentially larger and tougher versions of their common Shadow counterparts, these two are beefed up with stronger stats, more aggressive attacks, and altered vulnerabilities. It goes without saying this is a lot tougher than identifying Precious Hand’s weakness in Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis: The Answer. Knowing this key info is essential for any player wanting to progress onto the next floor.
Avenger Knight & Death Castle Weaknesses & Resistances In Episode Aigis
Take Ken, Metis & Koromaru With You
Both Death Castle and Avenger Knight have no weaknesses in Persona 3 Reload’s Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC, so you need to add Koromaru, Metis, and Ken to avoid their resistance. Avenger Knight repels Pierce damage, drains Electric damage, and uses Electric attacks. Death Castle is completely immune to Dark damage, drains Fire and Ice Damage, and uses Ice Attacks.
This means you need to use SEES members and Personas who use Light, Slash, Strike, and Wind attacks and also aren’t weak to Electric- and Ice-type moves. This eliminates Yukari and Akihiko as suitable squadmates, but Ken’s skills make him a decent substitute healer in place of the former.
While Metis can’t use her Ice-type attacks against Death Castle, her true potential lies in her higher Strength stat, which she can easily utilize against both bosses with her Strike and Slash moves – just like she could beat the Phantom Mage.
How To Defeat Avenger Knight & Death Castle
Buff, Debuff & Keep Up The Pressure
The strategy to defeat Avenger Knight and Death Castle in P3R Episode Aigis is to continuously debuff both bosses and buff the Personas of your team to hit for consistent damage. Aigis and the multiple Personas can fulfill this support role you have her use – using moves like Rakunda and Marakunda to lower Defense or Tarunda and Matarunda to lower Attack. Since you might not have the strongest Personas in Persona 3 Reload to use, you can have Ken use each turn to heal away any damage either boss inflicts.
Don’t use Koromaru’s Dark-type attacks either, since Death Castle is immune to them.
Using their respective high Strength and Agility, Metis and Koromaru should be your leading attackers – using every turn to inflict as much damage as possible. That includes using their resistance-proof Theurgy attacks as soon as they’re ready.
As long as you keep mindful of the resistances of both Avenger Knight and Death Castle in this Persona 3 Reload boss battle, your Episode Aigis: The Answer party will soon see victory with enough patience.
