Genshin Impact 5.2 Leaks: New Nightsoul Trials Are Going To Take Your Skills To The Limit

The new Nightsoul Trials for Genshin Impact 5.2 have leaked and they may represent the largest challenge players will face in the game so far. Nightsoul Trials are a new type of combat challenge introduced with Version 5.0 in the region of Natlan, exclusively. They are somewhat similar to Local Legends but can be considered an enhanced form of those. In HoYoverse’s action RPG, Nightsoul Trials are challenges accessed through Nightsoul Totems, obsidian-like totems that are placed in specific locations of Natlan in Genshin Impact, and, upon interacting with them, players are taken to an isolated arena.

There, they must face the Nightsoul Trial’s opponent, often a very difficult enemy that can only be taken down if players follow the mechanics that are designed to facilitate defeating them. In the Trial of Precision, for example, players must break objects in the arena as the opponent will grapple onto them and then fall, allowing them to sustain damage from the team comp. Each Night Trial requires a specific strategy and the new leaked ones for Version 5.2 may present the toughest Natlan Local Legends in Genshin Impact so far due to the requirements to beat them.

Two New Nightsoul Trials May Be Introduced In Genshin Impact 5.2

Both Challenges Seem To Contain Wayobs As The Enemies

Two new Nightsoul Trials are expected to arrive in Version 5.2, according to information shared by the leaker known as HomDCat. Their leak was then posted on Reddit and flagged as “Reliable.” The rumors say that the two Nightsoul Trials will feature Wayobs as the contestants for players to beat. The first of them is, allegedly, an Electro Wayob. The leaked strategy to beat it involves triggering Electro-Charged Reactions to deal True DMG to them. This may not be too difficult. The problem seems to lie with the second leaked Nightsoul Trial in Genshin Impact 5.2, featuring a Cryo Wayob.

The Opponent Is Rumored To Become Invisible

As seen in the leak provided by HomDGCat, the requirements for the leaked Cryo Wayob Nightsoul Trial are a lot more specific. The leaks say that, during combat, the opponent will become invisible and summon seven mirrors, one of which contains the Cryo Wayob’s true body. To remove its invisibility, players will have to shatter the true mirror by attacking it. The issue with this encounter, as shown in the leak, is that shattering a fake mirror will cause the active character to sustain massive Cryo DMG that cannot be dodged.

It is uncertain if the damage goes through shields or if a shield would prevent that damage from being inflicted on the aforementioned active character in
Genshin Impact
.

Considering how tough these Nightsoul Trials are, that damage could be lethal to some characters with smaller HP pools. The leak doesn’t say whether or not the Cryo Wayob shows itself after a fake mirror is shattered.

If it doesn’t and players are forced to continue shattering mirrors until they break the correct one, this could wipe out the player’s team comp, especially if there is no way of actively avoiding the incoming damage mentioned in the leak. It is unsure if there will be any signs of the true mirror in the leaked Nightsoul Trial in Genshin Impact 5.2.

Nightsoul Trials Are Already Genshin Impact’s Hardest Challenges

This Leaked Trial Could One-Shot Players’ Characters

It would not be totally surprising if this were the case, however. Nightsoul Trials already represent some of the most difficult enemy encounters in the entire game, despite being exclusive to Natlan. The Trial of Might, for example, puts players against a capybara called He Never Dies. The objective is to hit the Local Legend with powerful attacks capable of interrupting them, but this is easier said than done. He Never Dies has a charged attack that can one-shot a player’s strongest team comp character. If players aren’t totally prepared, they are likely to fail in Genshin Impact’s Nightsoul Trials.

What is concerning is that the leak about the Cryo Wayob in Version 5.2 does not mention a way of identifying in which mirror projection the creature resides. As such, if players are unlucky enough to pick the wrong mirrors consecutively, they may fail the challenge without ever really dealing significant damage to the rumored opponent. If the leaks are true, this may turn into the toughest Nightsoul Trial in Genshin Impact so far, mainly due to how much players may be reliant on luck alone.

This leak should be considered with caution, as is the case with any piece of leaked information. The details may be inaccurate, incomplete, or subject to change. Players will still have to go through the end of Version 5.0 and the entirety of Version 5.1 before they challenge these Nightsoul Trials. The details about the next patch should be presented during the Genshin Impact 5.1 livestream, set to occur soon.
