Viewers who had a good time watching Weak Hero Class 2 on Netflix will undoubtedly enjoy another action K-drama on the streamer. Based on a manhwa of the same name, Weak Hero garnered immense acclaim for its action sequences and coming-of-age drama when it first landed on Netflix. The show’s first season’s success led to its renewal, and its second installment, Weak Hero Class 2, premiered on Netflix on April 25, 2025. Although Class 2 has received relatively more mixed reviews, it still has almost all the elements that made its predecessors successful.
From compelling action scenes to heartbreaking teenage drama, Weak Hero Class 2 has it all, even though it is sometimes weighed down by pacing issues. Despite its flaws, Weak Hero Class 2 does an incredible job of setting the stage for another potential follow-up and leaving viewers craving for more. Given how Weak Hero Class 2 exhausts its original manhwa‘s content, the show’s future, for now, seems a little uncertain. However, while waiting for the news surrounding Weak Hero‘s future, viewers can check out another action-packed Korean show on Netflix.
Bloodhounds Is The Perfect Action K-Drama To Watch After Weak Hero
Like Weak Hero, Bloodhounds Is Packed With Gripping Action Sequences
Unlike Weak Hero, Netflix’s Bloodhounds does not feature a roster of young school-going characters. Owing to this, it does not adopt any coming-of-age themes. However, like Weak Hero, Bloodhounds is jampacked with white-knuckling action sequences that put its two protagonists’ fighting skills on full display. The two main characters, Geon-woo and Woo-jin, in Bloodhounds are portrayed as professional, highly-skilled boxers.

Weak Hero Class 2 ends on a bittersweet note where Si-eun finally gets the happiness he deserves but even darker things seem to be coming his way.
Like the main characters from Weak Hero, Geon-woo and Woo-jin also find themselves getting embroiled in the underbelly of their city after crossing paths with a vicious criminal organization. With their fists of fury and unrelenting desire to seek justice, the two characters attempt to fight their way out of a corrupt and exploitative system. Similar to Weak Hero, Bloodhounds features many high-octane action scenes that unfold both inside and outside the boxing ring. Almost all the fight scenes in the series are brilliantly choreographed, making it a worthy replacement for Weak Hero.
How Bloodhound Compares To Weak Hero
Weak Hero Is Arguably Better In Terms Of Storytelling
From a storytelling standpoint, Bloodhounds starts strong but loses a little steam towards the end. Owing to this, when compared with Weak Hero, it is hard not to see how the Netflix Korean show is relatively subpar. Despite having a few narrative flaws, however, Bloodhounds rarely leaves any dull moments. Unlike Weak Hero, which often stretches the suspension of disbelief with its action, Bloodhounds also remains fairly grounded with fight sequences.
All in all, even though Weak Hero may arguably be a better show overall, Bloodhounds, too, is a great addition to the South Korean acting genre and, like Weak Hero, also happens to be a webtoon adaptation.
Bloodhounds main cast members, Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi, also perfectly sell themselves as pro-boxers while also convincingly capturing their respective characters’ vulnerabilities and struggles. Even the villains in Bloodhounds seem far more menacing and formidable because of how far they go to inflict pain on the heroes. All in all, even though Weak Hero may arguably be a better show overall, Bloodhounds, too, is a great addition to the South Korean acting genre and, like Weak Hero, also happens to be a webtoon adaptation.

Since Netflix has already confirmed its season 2’s renewal, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2025, viewers who start watching it now will not have to wait long for season 1’s story to continue.
