As part of 2025’s Superman Day festivities, OVRLORD Comics on BlueSky has revealed an early look at DC’s Facsimile Edition of Action Comics #1, the first appearance of Superman. This reprint includes a cover by superstar artist Dan Mora, which shows the Man of Steel in his signature pose from the original comic. Moreover, the Superman pictured is a pitch-perfect depiction of the movie’s version, played by David Corenswet.

This special edition variant of Superman’s first comic is one of many releases that DC has planned to commemorate James Gunn’s Superman film, proving that there’s no better time than now to be a fan of Clark Kent.

Dan Mora’s variant cover for the Facsimile Edition of Action Comics #1 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster references the famous cover of this classic story and re-imagines it to bring the DCU to comics. The original, brought to life by Shuster in 1938, features Superman lifting a green car over his head with his cape billowing in the wind. He then smashes the car in defiance as people around him watch on.
