American Idol‘s Noah Thompson will never forget his first showcase after taking part in a major opportunity to boost his career. Noah’s post-American Idol life has been a bit of a roller coaster. He won American Idol season 20 largely because of his breakout cover of Rihanna’s “Stay.” Once the confetti fell, the real work began when he focused on creating his own music. After releasing an EP, Noah was eventually dropped by 19 Recordings and has been an independent artist ever since. He has been hitting the road in recent months performing in multiple states while debuting brand-new music.

Amid his current tour to promote his new songs, Noah said on Instagram that he got the chance to perform at his very “first showcase,” which is an opportunity to perform for a crowd that includes executives and other important people in the music industry. Fans were able to snag tickets to the free concert. Based on someone’s reply in the comments section, the show also streamed live on Facebook.
