Animal Crossing Players May Have Finally Figured Out Who ACNH’s Scariest Villager Is

Summary

  • The Reddit community chooses Coco as the creepiest villager in
    Animal Crossing: New Horizons
due to her soulless eyes and expression.
  • Zipper T. Bunny is also considered scary with his staring eyes and smile, reminiscent of a
    Five Nights at Freddy’s
    character.
  • Even the scariest villagers in ACNH probably have a heart of gold, showing that appearances can be deceiving in the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is known for being one of the most wholesome, delightful games on the market but the community has recently been more interested in the game’s creepier side. While it’s common knowledge that certain villagers are more desirable than others, it’s certainly unusual to remove a villager simply because they give off an eerie aura. Having said that, the adorable characters that call Animal Crossing home do have some outliers in their ranks and players may have finally figured out who’s the scariest of them all.

Responding to a Reddit post by Le7um1 which asked the community who they believed to be the most horrifying villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the majority agreed that Coco takes the crown.

The dead-eyed Rabbit earned plenty of votes for being the creepiest character in the game, and it’s not hard to see why. Coco’s soulless eyes and gaping mouth contrast with the expressive faces of every other villager; what makes her appearance even more sinister is that her expression never changes, making her look like a massive Gyroid who’s able to move around the island at will.

Animal Crossing’s Scariest Villagers

While Coco gained plenty of votes for being the scariest villager in ACNH, plenty of other odd characters also earned nods of fear. Another common suggestion is Zipper T. Bunny, the rabbit who shows up to celebrate Bunny Day and, while he’s not technically a villager, it’s certainly understandable why so many find him terrifying. The massive, staring eyes and constant smile make Zipper look like something out of Five Nights at Freddy’s, and the fact that his event is universally loathed certainly doesn’t improve his standing in the community.

Another popular suggestion is Blanca, and it’s certainly not hard to see why the cat would be considered eerie: She doesn’t have a face. Her white coat, coupled with her lack of facial features, makes her look like some kind of awful specter who’s come to haunt the island and its inhabitants. Other recurring votes include controversial villagers like Barold, Beardo, Bella, and Jitters.

It’s certainly fun to figure out who most Animal Crossing: New Horizons players would hate to encounter in a dark alley, but at the end of the day, even the scariest villager probably has a heart of gold. Coco may look terrifying on the outside, but she’s widely regarded as one of the kindest characters in the whole game. Just goes to show that players can’t judge an Animal Crossing village by their face.
