Chaos Theory Season 3: How Jurassic World Is Tying In Dominion (& Jurassic World Rebirth?)

The following contains spoilers for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 2, now streaming on NetflixJurassic World: Chaos Theory features a direct connection to the films in season 2 that could set up further threads between the animated show and the franchise’s future. Building off the events of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Chaos Theory has forced the Nublar Six into a dangerous and unpredictable world. Although they’ve survived plenty of close calls, the ending of season 2 of Chaos Theory teases a much more dangerous future for the cast, thanks to the identity of the mysterious “Broker.”

Revealed to be a villain who the Jurassic World films already established as a major player in the dinosaur black market, the plans of Chaos Theory‘s Broker and their alliances set up season 3 in some compelling ways. These discoveries highlight the connection between Chaos Theory and films like Jurassic World: Dominion, furthering the bridge between the two. The plot of Chaos Theory might even be a clue towards the general direction of the franchise’s future, including the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth.

Jurassic World Brings Dominion Villain, Soyona Santos, Into Chaos Theory

How A Jurassic World: Dominion Villain Factors Into Chaos Theory

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory brings one of the Jurassic World: Dominion villains into their story, cementing the connections between the show and live-action films. While Chaos Theory has been confirmed repeatedly to coexist with the events of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films, there’s been little overt crossover. This changes in season 2 of Chaos Theory, which brings back Dichen Lachman’s Soyona Santos and reveals she’s been the secretive smuggler at the heart of the show’s plot. Teased as the mysterious “Broker” in season 1, Santos becomes a deeply personal antagonist in season 2.

While Santos was a compelling figure in Dominion, Chaos Theory has the storytelling room to delve deeper into the character. A ruthless operator, Santos ends up working to manipulate Brooklynn despite the latter’s attempts to expose her crimes. This connection is seemingly affirmed in the final episodes of the season, setting Santos as the overarching human villain of the series (and one of the few people whose manipulations span several entries in the franchise). It’s an exciting turn in-story, but it’s also a fun way to build on the previous films and expand on established elements of the series.

Soyona Santos & Biosyn’s Partnership Is At The Heart Of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

How The Broker’s Alliance With Biosyn Leads Directly To Jurassic World: Dominion

One of the big turns in Santos’ plans during Chaos Theory reveals how she made an arrangement with Biosyn. While her plans to clone dinosaurs and take control of the black market are upended by the Nublar Six, the season ends with her still aligned with Biosyn. This actually builds naturally to the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, which takes place after Chaos Theory in the Jurassic Park timeline. After being established as a rival company to InGen during the events of Jurassic Park, Biosyn made a massive return in Dominion as an overarching villain.

What Happened To Brooklynn In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory explores what happened to Brooklynn the night of the allosaurus attack and why she was there to begin with.

It turns out they were responsible for the locust pandemic that threatened the world at large, and their efforts to become the leading force controlling the world’s dinosaur supply set up their continued partnership with Santos. By the end of the film , Biosyn’s crimes were exposed. However, Chaos Theory technically being a prequel to that film means that Biosyn may still be a dangerous factor in the show’s future. Biosyn’s efforts to corner the dinosaur market through cloning gives them a definite edge, and that could continue in season 3 and beyond.

As the timeline inches closer to the events of Dominion, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Chaos Theory season 3 deal with the alliance between Santos and Biosyn more overtly. Especially considering Santos ending the season with several dinosaur eggs in her possession, it seems the stage is set for the Nublar Six to embark on more globetrotting adventures. However, the new dinosaur breeds that are being made by Santos could factor into the future plans for the series. This includes Jurassic World Rebirth, with new kinds of dinosaurs potentially continuing to expand Jurassic World‘s global reach to new settings.

Chaos Theory expanded the series to entirely new locations, bringing the Nublar Six to Senegal and introducing new cultural approaches to dinosaurs. Jurassic World Rebirth could reiterate this focus and potentially could even continue to develop Santos as an overarching villain for the franchise as a whole. If that’s the case, then Chaos Theory‘s focus on Biosyn’s plans with Santos could become vital to the future of the series. Rebirth could even directly deal with the dinosaurs that have spread out around the world. This could make Jurassic World: Chaos Theory one of the most important parts of the story.
