Cobra Kai
season 6, part 3 neatly concludes the hit series with an emotional five-episode finale. After the tragic death of one of the Sekai Taikai contestants, the series needed to find a way to give the core cast a proper send-off. While it may take a moment to settle into its farewell run, part 3 contains some of the best episodes of Cobra Kai‘s final season.
Miyagi-do trained hard to prepare to compete in the Sekai Taikai, but when tragedy struck and one of the strongest competitors had an accidental death, the tone of the show shifted. Despite this, Cobra Kai finds its way back to focusing on the characters who led the series throughout its run and gives each a moment to shine. Meanwhile, there is intense competition, epic duels, and old rivals settling their disputes.
Cobra Kai Season 6 – Part 3 Goes Back To Basics
Having gone through six seasons of Cobra Kai, the characters at the heart of the story have grown a lot. While the show kicked off with Johnny Lawrence using his epic karate skills to fight a group of thuggish kids and the childish rivalry with Daniel LaRusso still burned bright, the show matured, focusing on more serious topics. However, goofy slapstick humor is a big part of the show’s DNA, and this final stretch of episodes recognizes that. Part 3 generates similar feelings of fun and humor as the original 1984 movie, while also balancing the more intense moments.
Cobra Kai manages to create tension and drama, which all combine in a satisfying way before the show comes to a close.
Cobra Kai’s finale excels at looking back, paying tribute to the stories that inspired it, and showing off the next generation of fighters. While there are moments where it feels as though it is jumping from one moment to the next in rapid succession, the series finishes on a strong note. Still using the framing of the Sekai Taikai tournament, Cobra Kai manages to create tension and drama that come together satisfyingly before the show comes to a close.
The show doesn’t shy away from getting into more serious topics, exposing the true villains of the series and wrapping up narratives that have developed throughout its run. Overall, Cobra Kai neatly brings its important plots full circle, with a satisfying conclusion for the entire core cast. Yet, with only five episodes to conclude the series, characters who were introduced in later seasons were slightly ignored.
Cobra Kai Sees The Villains Fall & The Heroes Stand Tall
With Cobra Kai having divided up its final season into three parts, each part had a very different and distinct feeling. Part 1 was a preamble and the series introduced some dramatic challenges that would plague the characters throughout the Sekai Taikai. Part 2 focused primarily on the tournament and the spirit of the competition before a tragic crescendo brought things to a screeching halt. And Part 3 says goodbye to the characters. Of the three, Part 3 is the most satisfying and cathartic thanks to the emotion and fun given to its concluding character arcs and story.
With Cobra Kai having divided up their final season into three parts, with each consisting of five episodes, each part had a very different and distinct feeling.
Not only does Part 3 end the narrative that began six seasons ago, it leaves Cobra Kai on a brighter note than when it began. The main characters have grown and understand themselves better. In this way, the heroes soar higher than ever, while the villains fall, defeated. Cobra Kai season 6 explored themes of identity, belonging, resilience, and perseverance in a way that felt genuine for the characters. The Netflix series took this 30-year-old franchise and brought it to a nearly perfect conclusion.

The Sekai Taikai is underway, and the kids from Miyagi-Do face their greatest challenges yet, both in the ring and among tense relationships.
The three-part finale was not necessary and it ultimately made season 6 feel fragmented, but by treating the final five episodes as a finale in their own right, the writers used the remaining time extremely well and tied the series back to the original Karate Kid films. And while Cobra Kai‘s season 6 finale provides a hopeful look forward for the heroes of the series, it avoids creating obvious links to a future movie or spin-off, which gives it a more definitive ending worthy of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence’s epic rivalry.
