What Happened In Dan Da Dan Episode #2?
A Desperate Struggle With No Way Out
After their life-or-death battle, Momo and Okarun decide to head to her home to change, seeing as it was the morning, and they could only find Turbo Granny at night. Okarun couldn’t enter the compound at first since there was a protective charm enacting a barrier that warned off ghosts, and Okarun was possessed by one. Momo removed it and both went inside. As Momo was changing, the two had a conversation regarding this situation, and it was here that Momo reassured Okarun that he had found a friend with her, and they’d stay friends after.
This wholesome moment was interrupted when the doorbell rang, and Momo quickly figured out that it was a supernatural creature behind the door. Since the barrier was now down, an alien snuck in and was out for revenge on Okarun. Besides the monster being humongous, it was also spraying poisonous gas, so the clock was ticking for the two. They couldn’t leave the area since the alien enacted a new barrier, so their only choice was to defeat it. The alien was too powerful, but Okarun had the idea of Momo suppressing his mind while allowing the body to be taken over by Turbo Granny.

Okarun’s Turbo Mode is very powerful, and he actually beats the alien and pushes him back. However, he couldn’t hold the mode for too long due to the toll on his body. This is when Momo decides to take the initiative and take the alien on by herself. Using a clever strategy that involved the protective charm, she took a huge beating from the alien but outsmarted it, leading it to be exorcised. Finally outside the compound, Momo collapses from pure exhaustion. Unfortunately, with Momo passed out, Turbo Granny possesses Okarun and the episode ends with him looming over Momo’s unconscious body.
Dan Da Dan Episode #2 Review
While the episode wasn’t as explosive as the first, the fight against the alien was definitely great. The black-and-white visuals were a nice creative choice that definitely made the fight look more intense. Okarun’s transformation with the red color scheme and overall animation of the scene definitely did justice to the long-awaited moment.
Beyond the action and interesting lore reveal about aliens and ghosts, the highlight of this episode was definitely Momo and Okarun’s blooming friendship. The scene where Okarun self-deprecates about his lack of friends and Momo asserts that she will be his friend was heartwarming and beautiful.
What Will Happen In Dan Da Dan Episode #3?
A Hype Entrance Of A Major Character Is Coming Soon
The situation is bad for both Momo and Okarun, and there is no one around to stop Turbo Granny. This, however, provides a great opportunity for one highly anticipated character to make their introduction, and it is someone with the power to suppress ghosts. The series has established Momo and Okarun as the main characters, and fans can look forward to new side characters who will be helping the two as they step into the world of the occult.
In just 2 episodes, Dan Da Dan has done a fantastic job of making viewers attached to Momo and Okarun and setting up their romance. Their motivations, backstory, and relationship are interesting to say the least, and episode #2 made them an even better duo. Episode #3 is going to be a good one that kicks off with a bang and mellows gradually, giving viewers a chance to see a great character on display.
