DC Confirms 1 Teen Titan Is as Powerful as Superman & It’s Blowing My Mind

Summary

  • DC’s Evil Batman reveals Miss Martian’s power levels rival Superman’s.
  • Miss Martian’s extensive abilities include flight, shape-shifting, telepathy, strength, speed, heat vision, and more, exceeding Superman’s own power arsenal.
  • Superman has admitted that he believes M’gann’s uncle to be the most powerful being on the face of the Earth.

WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for ABSOLUTE POWER: TASK FORCE VII #4!When considering heroes who could challenge Superman in a one-on-one battle, few come to mind, especially among junior heroes like those in the Teen Titans. However, a recent revelation in DC’s summer crisis event, Absolute Power, confirms that one young hero possesses power levels rivaling those of the Man of Steel. Given that Superman also fears her uncle, it’s clear this young hero is a significant threat in her own right.

Superman considers Martian Manhunter one of the only beings in the universe he “would be afraid to face in open combat.”

In Absolute Power: Task Force VII #4 by Pornsak Pichetshote, Claire Roe, and Lee Loughridge, Amanda Waller’s war against metahumans intensifies as she deploys Failsafe and her Justice League-inspired, power-stealing Amazos to hunt down and capture Earth’s heroes and villains.

This issue features an attack on Nightwing, Miss Martian, Ray, Voodoo, and Robin by the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh-infused Failsafe. The brutal battle is further enhanced by the android’s internal monologue, which provides intriguing insights into the heroes he confronts, including a revelation about Miss Martian’s power levels that initially shocked me to my core.

DC’s Evil Batman Confirms That Miss Martian Rivals Superman In Power Levels

M’gann M’orzz Is One of the Only Teen Titans Who Could Potentially Beat Superman in a Fight

As Failsafe assesses the group of heroes to decide who to attack first, his internal monologue provides interesting and entirely factual insights on each character. The comments about Miss Martian are particularly striking, as Failsafe remarks that “M’gann hails from a shape-shifting race with powers that rival Superman’s.” This moment effectively suggests that if any Teen Titan could challenge Superman, it would be M’gann. This was an unexpected revelation that prompted me to look up the Teen Titan’s powers for a refresher.

Upon Googling Miss Martian’s powers, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of results. While I was familiar with several of her abilities, I had forgotten just how much of a powerhouse this sweet alien truly is. Her abilities include flight, shape-shifting, telepathy, superhuman senses, superhuman strength and speed, heat vision, astral projection, phasing, invisibility, longevity, a healing factor, telekinesis, mind control, Martian vision, and more. After reviewing her extensive power lineup, Failsafe’s statement makes more sense. However, a battle between Superman and Miss Martian to determine who is the stronger being will have to wait, as both are currently powerless.

JLA #86 Superman Batman Martian Manhunter

The more I thought about Miss Martian having power levels that rival Superman’s, the less disbelieving I became, especially when a colleague mentioned how Superman considers Martian Manhunter “the most powerful being on the face of the Earth” and one of the only beings in the universe he “would be afraid to face in open combat.” Although J’onn J’onzz is a Green Martian and M’gann is a White Martian, they both have the same powers. The main difference is that J’onn, being millions of years older, has more experience and more matured powers. However, Miss Martian certainly has the potential to rise to her uncle’s power levels, further supporting the argument that she has power levels that rival Superman.
