Genshin Impact 6.0 Leaks: New Characters May Add Much-Needed DPS Options

New leaks about Genshin Impact 6.0 and its potential new characters have emerged, and based on the information, it seems like players may gain access to much-needed DPS options that aren’t available in the game. The action RPG is still in the midst of Version 5.6, heading into Version 5.7 next week. After that, players will have to go through its contents for the next six weeks until the arrival of Version 5.8, which should be the final update before Version 6.0. The release of Genshin Impact 6.0 will occur in September if the game sticks to its regular schedule.

A lot of the information about Version 6.0 is still unknown, as the leaks about the patch haven’t been as frequent or reliable as they have been when it came to previous regions, such as Natlan or Fontaine. Even so, as the game moves closer to the update, new information about the update is starting to arise. Officially, players know that the update will take them to Nod-Krai, which could extend Genshin Impact’s roadmap by a full year. Regarding rumors, there’s speculation about potential playable characters, such as the Knights of Favonius’ Grand Master Varka or the Fatui Harbinger Columbina.

The Characters From Nod-Krai May Be DPS Units

The information about these characters is still scarce, but there have now been leaks about new units that may make their debut in Version 6.0. According to information provided by the leaker known as 领域重开, which was shared by user ISRUKRENG in a post tagged as “Suspicious” on Reddit, two new characters will arrive in Version 6.0. As seen in the leak, the update’s first half will feature an Electro male character, who is expected to be a carry DPS focused on Electro-Charged reactions. For reference, Electro-Charged is the result of the interaction between Electro and Hydro in Genshin Impact.

My Absurd Genshin Impact Theory May Be Closer To Being True Than Ever Before

While HoYoverse has made efforts to keep Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail separate, I’m convinced that both universes will blend in the future.

The second half is said to feature the debut of a Geo female character, who will operate as a carry DPS focused on Crystallize reactions. The leak doesn’t provide much more information about them, but shares a potential roadmap of characters until Version 6.3. The leak is sustained by information provided by another leaker, known as Shirai_Kurokochan. Their leak also mentions a 5-star Electric male character, who may be associated with the Lightkeepers, while the 5-star Geo female character may be part of the Frostmoon Scions in Genshin Impact. The leak was also shared in a “Suspicious” post on Reddit.

Genshin Impact Desperately Needs A Great Electro DPS

Even Clorinde Has Immense Flaws In Her Kit

Although the rumors don’t contain much information other than the characters’ respective ratings, genders, roles, and their elements, it’s enough to allow some speculation on how they may contribute to the current roster. The rumors about the 5-star Electro male character initially seem positive. This is because the leaks say he is a carry DPS, and the game has been in desperate need of a powerful Electro DPS. There are some pretty good Electro DPS characters, but none of them truly stand out. Cyno in Genshin Impact, who was supposed to be a top-tier Electro DPS, is a below-average character.

On the other hand, Electro DPS characters like Clorinde still have a lot of flaws. For all the damage output potential that she has, Clorinde has issues with how limited her rotation is, which could take away from the damage potential itself. Additionally, Clorinde is extremely reliant on a solid team comp – she is not a hypercarry DPS who necessarily gets stronger with allies, but a DPS who needs allies to improve the overall damage output. She is powerful, but her flaws don’t allow Clorinde in Genshin Impact to be a must-have Electro DPS.

Clorinde is also quite vulnerable, having low Interruption RES and low HP, which is further worsened by the fact that she uses Bond of Life mechanics that put her at constant risk.

The recently released Varesa is also strong, but she is not a classic Electro DPS, and requires a specific team comp that enables her to deal decent damage with her Plunging Attacks. The game excels when it comes to Electro sub-DPS units like Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, Ororon, and Fischl, but it fails at offering reliable on-field Electro DPS units. For now, it’s too early to tell if the rumored Electro character from Version 6.0 will supplement that absence while being restricted to Electro-Charged, but the hopes are that he may help expand the Electro options in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 6.0’s Leaked Geo DPS Could Revitalize The Element

The Character Needs To Surpass Navia

Genshin Impact's Navia poses and smiles in Poisson.

Similarly, Geo suffers from the absence of more DPS options, too. The best Geo DPS character in the game is Navia, who also specializes in dealing damage through the power of Crystallize reactions and the shards she collects. The Fontaine character is the best in her category and offers a comfortable and fun gameplay rotation that works well, but she is far from exceptional. Navia’s build in Genshin Impact can be hard to reach, and it can seriously impact her damage output. Additionally, Navia is great for quickly clearing out waves, but doesn’t really perform well against tougher bosses.

I Regret Not Pulling For This Broken Genshin Impact Character After Nearly Two Years, & Now It May Be Too Late

I skipped Furina’s banners, believing I already had characters that fulfilled her roles in Genshin Impact, and I deeply regret the decision I made.

Apart from Navia, all other Geo DPS characters are suboptimal and don’t reach the demands of the current meta when it comes to team comps and damage output. Geo has traditionally been an undervalued element, and while there have been attempts to increase its value, such as the very release of Navia, for example, it hasn’t really reached the standard of other elements. It’s unclear how the rumored new Geo character from Version 6.0 will differ from Navia and how she’ll stand out among DPS of other elements, but there is also hope she’ll make Geo relevant in Genshin Impact.

For now, the leaks should be taken with a huge grain of salt, as it’s still very early to believe in any information about Version 6.0 – not only may the information be inaccurate, but it could be highly subject to change. These two character releases, for example, could be pushed into another update, being substituted by other units. Even so, the mere rumors about their possible archetypes spark hope that some of the elements with the least damage potential can be revitalized with Genshin Impact 6.0.
