Greg is brilliantly revealed to be still alive – and not in prison – in The White Lotus season 3 premiere. Certainly the best-kept secret of The White Lotus season 3, Greg’s return adds an immediate layer of intrigue and connectivity to the previous seasons, especially given Tanya’s absence. Toward the end of the episode, the new White Lotus character Chelsea, played by Aimee Lou Wood (Living, Sex Education), befriends a woman named Chloe (French actress Charlotte Le Bon) at a bar at the Thailand resort. Chelsea and Chloe hit it off about their terrible boyfriends, showing Greg sitting in the background.

Greg appears weathered and exhausted at an otherwise empty table with multiple plates of food. Chloe reveals that she and Greg have been living in Thailand for a year, which indicates that it’s been at least a year since Tanya’s death. She says that she and Greg got in a fight so she’s giving him space to cool off. She refers to Greg as what the locals call one of the LBH’s – “Losers Back Home.” Chelsea, who’s stuck dealing with her irritable boyfriend Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins), agrees to get drunk with Chloe because they have nothing better to do.

Although Greg wasn’t technically there at the end of The White Lotus season 2, it was his plan to kill Tanya, meaning he should be in prison. His appearance in The White Lotus season 3 suggests that he’s been hiding out in Thailand after Tanya’s death and potentially living off of Tanya’s wealth somehow. Fortunately for Greg, everyone who knew about the conspiracy to kill Tanya died, so all signs indicate that he got away scot-free, presumably with Tanya’s bank account. Greg is keeping a low profile in Thailand with Chloe, who appears to have no clue about his past.
