You Can Drop Items For Various Reasons

To pick something up from the ground, you use “E”. If you picked something up by accident, or you want to move an item, go to the spot you wish to drop it, then click the same button used to pick up said item. You can use the white dot indicator to tell where you will drop the item, though it might be off by a smidge.

Automation is important to running a successful business in Schedule 1. One way to automate is by hiring a Botanist. Here’s how you can hire one.

Sometimes, when you pick something up and go to move it, it will be blocked by something in the world, and it automatically drops. If you can’t find what you dropped, simply retrace your steps and look around for any objects that might have interfered with you moving them. Keep in mind the items in your hot bar can not be dropped. If you don’t want them in your inventory, you will need to put them on a storage shelf.

To pick up items that aren’t considered trash on the ground, such as storage shelves, you must first make sure they’re empty. You will also need an empty space in your hot bar. Get close enough to interact with it, then hold the right mouse button until you pick up what you’re looking to move. You will see the round indicator telling you that you’re picking it up. Once it’s in your inventory at the bottom of the screen, you can scroll over to it, and you can choose where you would like to place it.

Getting Rid Of Unwanted Objects

If you wish to get rid of an item, such as trash, pick it up using the “E” on your keyboard, or the designated button in your controls. You can then walk over to the trash can, hold the item directly over the opening, and let it go using the same button you used to pick it up with. If the trash can is too full, whatever you go to drop in it will just sit on top. There aren’t any repercussions for not keeping your space clean.

Buy trashbags at one of the shops to empty the trashcan when it gets full and dump the bag in one of the dumpsters around the map. However, unless you’re made of money and already have a laundering business in Schedule 1, be mindful of what you get rid of.

Once something is thrown away, it is gone forever.

When it comes to furniture or equipment you wish to get rid of, place the object you want to delete in a storage container. Interact with the storage and select said item. You will see to the right of your hot bar is a red square that says discard. Drag and drop anything you wish to get rid of into this red square.

If you accidentally delete something of importance, you can always buy it back at one of the shops on the map, like Dan’s Hardware. If you need more seeds because you accidentally deleted your stash in Schedule 1, call up your supplier to order another dead drop.
