Even though hopes for a sequel have been squashed for now, My Hero Academia‘s vast franchise still has a lot to offer and the author’s new message to fans highlights exactly that.
In a message posted to his official X account, Kohei Horikoshi recently shared his thoughts on the ending of My Hero Academia, expressing his gratitude once again for their support. The message was accompanied by a new hand-drawn illustration of Deku and All Might and in it Horikoshi notably states that “it doesn’t feel like it’s over at all” thanks to the various events and people keeping the franchise alive.
Horikoshi draws attention to how My Hero Academia‘s anime is still ongoing, with the franchise’s latest film, You’re Next, and its newest spin-off manga, Connect to the Day, having just been released as well. As such, Horikoshi’s latest message reassures fans that even though the manga has ended, My Hero Academia‘s franchise is still very much alive through these other mediums.

In the post, Kohei Horikoshi begins by addressing the manga’s ending in the latest issue of Shonen Jump, expressing his relief at having made it to the end and also thanking its fans for sticking around until the end, saying:
The manga “My Hero Academia” has concluded in this week’s issue of Jump! I’ve been exhausted for a long time, but I managed to make it to the end! Thank you to everyone who read it!!!!!!
Horikoshi also expresses his happiness at getting the chance to be published in Shonen Jump alongside so many amazing series, including that of his idol and dear friend Eichiiro Oda. He particularly mentions Deku being given a chance to stand alongside Luffy on the covers of Jump, describing it as an honor:
I will never forget the joy and honor of being able to compete with so many interesting manga in the coveted Jump magazine, and above all, the fact that Deku was able to stand next to Luffy, even if just for a moment, even if it was just luck!
