Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles Reunion After Supernatural Can Happen Ahead Of The Boys

Summary

  • CBS procedural shows may reunite Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles before The Boys.
  • Padalecki will star as Camden in Fire Country season 3.
  • Ackles will reprise his role as Russell Shaw on Tracker season 2.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have not shared the screen since Supernatural ended in 2020 (without counting Ackles’ very brief cameo in Walker), and although they’re set to reunite in The Boys, the two actors have another opportunity to work together beforehand. The CW series features Padalecki and Ackles playing two brothers — Sam and Dean — who went on to become one of the most iconic sibling duos on TV. Four years after Supernatural ended, many are itching to see Padalecki and Ackles reunite on the small screen, which could realistically happen on CBS.

Jared Padalecki will play an unknown character in
The Boys
season 5, while Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Ben/Soldier Boy.

Supernatural premiered in September 2005 and lasted for 15 seasons and 327 episodes, making it the longest-running TV series in the history of the CW. Over the course of its run, Padalecki and Ackles remained the fantasy mystery’s stars, which is quite impressive given its duration and cemented them as such a memorable onscreen duo. Thankfully, they will work together again when Padalecki portrays a character in The Boys. However, a reunion could come sooner than when The Boys season 5 premieres in 2026.

A Tracker & Fire Country Crossover Can Reunite Padalecki & Jensen Before The Boys

Padalecki Will Star As Camden In Fire Country Season 3

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are both set to make appearances on CBS procedural shows during the 2024–2025 TV season, and a crossover between the two series could reunite the two actors. Ackles will reprise his role as Russell Shaw during Tracker season 2. Meanwhile, Fire Country season 3 will introduce Padalecki as a new character, Camden. Both roles will be recurring, meaning that Padalecki and Ackles are expected to appear in only a handful of episodes on their respective shows, but a crossover could still happen.

Although their two characters are seemingly very different, Padalecki and Ackles could cross paths soon since
Tracker
and
Fire Country
are both on CBS.

Ackles’ Russell is Colter’s brother in Tracker, who served in the military for 18 years before becoming a mercenary. As for Padalecki’s Fire Country role, Camden is a SoCal firefighter who sees potential in Bode. Although their two characters are seemingly very different, Padalecki and Ackles could cross paths soon since Tracker and Fire Country are both on CBS. The network is also priming a Fire Country spinoff centering around Camden, making a Supernatural reunion even more plausible. Plus, an Ackles Tracker spinoff seems inevitable, further increasing the chances for the actors to work together on CBS.

What A Tracker & Fire Country Crossover May Be About

The CBS Shows Can Easily Cross Over

Since Tracker and Fire Country are procedural series, it would be fairly easy for CBS to plan a crossover between the two shows. It also helps that the premise of Tracker is that Colter travels across the country for his job. Perhaps Jensen Ackles’ Russell is assisting his brother on a case that takes them to northern California (or southern California if the Jared Padalecki Fire Country spinoff pans out), where they work together with the firefighters to find someone lost in the woods. Then, the two Supernatural actors could effortlessly reunite before The Boys’ final season is released.
