She is perhaps best known for her lead roles in shows like the legal drama Partner Track. She also appeared in the live-action Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender as June.

Character: Rumi is the lead vocalist for Huntrix and is the main character of KPop Demon Hunters. The daughter of a former demon hunter/music star, Rumi is the most dedicated of the trio to complete the Honmoon and seal away the demons. This is because she possesses a secret connection to the demon world that she hopes will be erased if they can succeed. However, all of her plans are complicated by the arrival of Jinu and his Saja Boys.

Ahn Hyo-seop as Jinu

Actor: Born in Seoul, South Korea, before moving with his family to Canada, Ahn Hyo-seop later returned to South Korea and found a career as an actor and singer. After making his debut in the South Korean drama Splash Splash Love, Ahn’s breakout was the lead role in the 2017 show Queen of the Ring. Ahn has subsequently become a huge star in South Korean television, taking on leading roles in shows like Dr. Romantic. Some of his shows have also been either produced or distributed by Netflix, including A Time Called You and Business Proposal.

Character: Jinu is the primary antagonist of KPop Demon Hunters, serving as a direct foil to Rumi. A musician who lived centuries before the present day, Jinu made a bargain with the demonic Gwi-Ma and serves him in the underworld. Jinu is the one who suggests creating the Saja Boys, serving as the front man of the boy band. However, his unexpected sympathies for Rumi end up exposing his own past mistakes and lingering humanity.

May Hong as Mira

Actor: Born in South Korea before immigrating to the United States with her family, May Hong transitioned from a modeling career that began in 2011 into an acting career. Making her screen debut as a minor character in Broad City, Hong has subsequently appeared in shows like High Maintenance, Hacks, and New Amsterdam. Her breakout lead role came in 2019 with the Netflix revival of Tales of the City, where Hong plays Margot Park.

Character: Mira is one of the three members of Huntrix. Serving as the band’s lead dancer and choreographer, Mira is a fairly blunt and occasionally monotone member of the group who rebelled from her wealthy family after being declared a “problem child.” Although she’s overtly the most put-together of the trio, Mira’s insecurities slowly build up over the film to cause drama between her and Rumi.

Actor: Born in Denver, Colorado, Ji-young Yoo made her cinematic debut in the Netflix film Moxie. Yoo appeared in shows and films like The Sky is Everywhere and Expats, with the latter earning her award nominations from the Gotham Awards. Ji-young’s biggest mainstream release so far is the video game adaptation Until Dawn, where Ji-young appeared as Megan.

Character: The third and final member of Huntrix, Zoey is the lyricist for the band. Having grown up in California before moving to South Korea, Zoey brings an excitable energy to the musical performances. Nevertheless, she proves to be just as effective of a fighter as her companions.

KPop Demon Hunters Recruited Some Great Musical And Vocal Talent For The Supporting Cast And Villains

KPop Demon Hunters boasts a very impressive supporting cast, who bring a bit more personality and authenticity to the film’s version of South Korea. Two of the more prominent supporting characters in the film are Celine and Bobby. Yunjin Kim (Lost) plays Celine, the mentor to Huntrix and Rumi’s adopted mother, while Ken Jeong (The Masked Singer) plays Huntrix’s enthusiastic band manager Bobby. Yunjin Kim’s Lost co-star Daniel Dae Kim (Avatar: The Last Airbender) appears as Healer Han, who attempts to help Rumi regain her strained voice.

Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game) plays Gwi-Ma, the demon lord who serves as the big bad of the film. Joel Kim Booster (Fire Island), Alan Lee (The Ghost and Molly McGee), and SunWon Cho (Blackberry) play other members of the Saja Boys.
