Leonardo DiCaprio Described This HBO Show As “Amazing,” And A New Season Is Finally Coming Out

Created by Sam Levinson, the TV show Euphoria instantly made its mark on television in 2019. Drenched in glitter, dizzying lighting, and a cinematic style, Euphoria has always been more focused on the emotional truths of its characters rather than a narrative rooted in realism. However, this is exactly what has drawn so many viewers into the show’s web. It strikes a nuanced and impactful tone, unafraid to push boundaries and frankly discuss some of the most significant issues that people face in adolescence. Starring Zendaya as Rue and Hunter Schafer as Jules, Euphoria boasts an incredible cast.

Since the ensemble is so star-studded, the Euphoria cast is in exciting movies and TV shows. Many of the performers have only become more famous and recognizable since season 1 was released, and it’s incredible that so many of them will be returning for season 3 despite the many projects they’re juggling. However, Euphoria has sparked cultural moments every time it’s premiered, with a far-reaching impact on audiences of all kinds, even actors as synonymous with incredible filmmaking as Leonardo DiCaprio. When an actor makes a point of talking about the shows they love, it’s hard not to take notice.

Leonardo DiCaprio Thinks Euphoria Is Amazing

The High-Profile Actor Hasn’t Been Shy About His Love For Euphoria

For writers, showrunners, and actors alike, it’s always amazing to receive praise for a project. This joy is taken to the next level when the compliments are paid by a Hollywood star as high-profile and iconic as Leonardo DiCaprio. On multiple occasions, on the red carpet and in conversation with actors on the series, DiCaprio has discussed the admiration he feels for Euphoria, and we can’t help but agree. It’s not just the look and feel of the project that makes it such a hit, but also the performances from the dedicated cast who push themselves to their limits onscreen.

DiCaprio opened up to one of Euphoria‘s stars, Jacob Elordi, about how much he loves the show when the pair met (via People). Like many viewers, DiCaprio was instantly enchanted by the camera work and visual style of Euphoria, which instantly set the series apart when it premiered in 2019. These elements work to uplift the central performances from the actors and immerse the viewer in the characters’ heightened worlds. Euphoria understands that when you’re a teenager, everything feels larger than life, and wanted to represent this.

DiCaprio is far from the only prominent voice that has praised Euphoria since it premiered, as the show was almost instantly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. Though season 2 marked a shift in the trajectory of Euphoria, hopes are high for season 3, as it will shake up the characters’ lives even further. While change is scary, it’s also exciting, and Euphoria has had a lot of time between seasons 2 and 3 to ruminate and change, ensuring that the viewers will get a satisfying installment of the story to sink their teeth into.

Why Euphoria Season 3 Took So Long To Start Filming

The Production Has Hit Many Roadblocks Since Season 2 Ended

The Euphoria season 3 delays have been frustrating. Euphoria season 2 premiered in 2022, so it’s been over three years since we last saw the complicated but beloved characters onscreen. Euphoria season 3 started filming in early 2025, so it’s likely that we’ll see the series return in early 2026. While streaming services typically take longer to put out new seasons, Euphoria hit many roadblocks in its journey back to production, despite its renewal following season 2. Various elements, like the WAG and SAG-AFTRA strikes and creative differences between Levinson, Zendaya, and HBO, have compounded the delays.

Jumping forward in time, we’re going to see a brand new side of our characters, for better or worse.

While it’s hard on the audience to wait so long for such a highly anticipated project, there’s no doubt that we would rather be patient and hold out for the best possible product. Getting a half-baked season 3 would be far more disappointing than no season 3. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too much longer, as Euphoria season 3 is finally on its way. The season has a lot of exciting changes in store for the characters and audience. Jumping forward in time, we’re going to see a brand new side of our characters, for better or worse.

What Is Going On With Euphoria Season 3? Delay & Cast Problems Explained

Euphoria fans have been anxiously awaiting season 3 for a long time, and it sounds like they will have to wait even longer after additional delays.

Taking the characters out of high school will be a challenge, but it’s likely for the best, as Euphoria has always been a series unafraid to tackle the intensity of young people’s emotional experiences. It made sense for the show to begin with the characters in their teenage years, but they’ve already gone through so much in just the first two seasons that they deserve to enter a new phase of life to give their arcs direction. I can’t wait for the next installment of Euphoria and to see how it stacks up against the first two seasons.
