Marvel Rivals Could Make Clone Rumble So Much Better With This Simple Fix

Clone Rumble is a fun addition to Marvels Rivals, but it’s repetitive, and it wouldn’t be all that hard to trim it down in a way that brings the excitement to the forefront. While using identical characters can result in some memorable scenarios, it can also make matches feel like they go on for too long. And since it is arcade mode, matchmaking will bring together players of random skill levels, making it impossible to predict how enjoyable each game is.

Upon release, Clone Rumble has been more limiting than most players expected. There was high praise that the mode could be super chaotic with 12 Doctor Stranges or Lokis in Marvel Rivals. However, a number of complex heroes were outright banned. This mostly includes healers who could prolong Clone Rumble. Additionally, it seems that which hero is selected among a team’s picks is purely random among the six. There is no weight for multiple players wanting to use a certain character, making matches even more lopsided.

Clone Rumble Should Have One-Round Matches

The Battle Is Often Determined In The First Round

As an arcade mode, Clone Rumble only makes use of one base game type: Domination. This is a minimum of two rounds, but can go to three if both teams wind up in a tie. However, it can typically be clear that one side is much more organized or prepared during the first round. This means that the second fight is likely going to be a demoralizing stomp. This could be alleviated by sticking to one round, much like Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival in Marvel Rivals.

NetEase may already realize that Clone Rumble is a bit tedious in Marvel Rivals. It is only available from Friday-Sunday and is not accessible during mid-week. Plus, the first set of missions didn’t encourage players to actually win, gaining the same rewards as long as they played three matches.

Another aspect that would help is simply more maps and game types. All of Clone Rumble occurs in the Wakanda-themed area of Birnin T’Challa, and not Yggsgard or Hydra Base. Convoy and Convergence maps also do not appear in Clone Rumble, which could have increased the fun and removed so much monotony. But sticking to a single map that is already widely played in quick play and ranked makes the Clone Rumble event poorly implemented in Marvel Rivals.

Future Marvel Rivals Events Should Learn From Clone Rumble

Players Should Want To Play The Actual Event & Not Just Be After Rewards

The past three game mode events have all shared a similar problem: people only play them to get the reward, like the new Mrs. Barnes skin in Marvel Rivals, and then dip out from lack of enjoyment or need. The current gameplay mode of Clone Rumble doesn’t seem to fit with the reward track, Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure. The board game doesn’t directly include clones showing up, and Galacta doesn’t have any additional presence when playing the Clone Rumble mode.

Marvel Rivals Devs Finally Implement A Feature To Stop Mid-Match Leavers, But Fans Think NetEase Missed One Crucial Detail

NetEase has brought a new feature to report players for leaving mid-match in Marvel Rivals, but fans think a bigger issue needs a fast fix.

NetEase needs to fix a few things going forward with the next events in Marvel Rivals. First, lower the time spent in individual matches, but get people engaged to actually play a well-made temporary mode. This can come from great gameplay, fair rules, and actual rewards that incentivize playing said modes. The second would be to make it possible to grind currency and rewards by directly playing the event, not stopping and waiting for missions every few days or an entire seven-day week.
