Fresh out of the events of Venom War, it looks like Venom has a brand-new style. From all the different styles of fans’ favorite symbiote in the Venomverse with just as many hosts, Venom has been through several iterations through several centuries. But in the current Marvel timeline, heroes are fighting for the Venom symbiote, and it looks like one new host is going to come out on top.
Venom has had many versions, and it looks like after Venom War, by Al Ewing and Iban Coello, Eddie Brock’s iconic turn at being the host for Venom is finally done. What follows is a brand-new series from the same writer of Venom War with the art of Carlos Gomez, and it’s all in the title: All-New Venom. Not only are new details being released, but this new Venom is showing off a different style. The variant covers to the first issue reveal a stunning gold-and-black suit that heralds the best days of Venom are yet to come.
What Venom’s New Gold Design Means For Marvel’s Symbiote
The Many Aspects of Venom
Even with all the looks Venom has had, the majority of them have stayed the same. As a character, the villainVenom has a sordid history with Spider-Man, considering that Spider-Man has worn the Venom symbiote too. However, as Spider-Man in a black suit, there was nothing really all-too striking except the lack of red and blue. With Eddie Brock and even as a hero, Venom had his iconic look that fans have come to love both in the comics and the films, and when his son Dylan Brock became the next iteration, he looked basically the same. It’s about time for Venom to get the next suit upgrade he deserves.
The closet Venom got to a real makeover was in some of his surprise hosts he has had through the years that are almost as strange as his newest friendship. Venom has possessed Deadpool, in one of his most interesting connections, but the result was only a Venom-esque version of Deadpool’s suit. And even when he assumed the ultimate form of Venom World, Venom was in his expected colors. So the golden change to his usual look means more than just a new host, because new hosts haven’t always changed the way Venom looks: it means a complete shift in who Venom is and what Venom means.
Our Take on The All-New Venom’s Gold Redesign
Venom in His Golden Look Signifies His Best Series Yet
No matter the look, Venom has often been black and white, because in the end, he’s not a suit at all but an alien symbiote that morphs to fit his host’s personality. It begs the question: who is this new host that fashions himself a golden Venom? The answer remains just as cryptically to fans: whoever is behind the mask and the golden Spider-emblem is going to change symbiote lore for good and create a wild new symbiote team-up that fans won’t soon forget about this newest Venom.
All-New Venom #1 is on sale December 4th from Marvel Comics.
