Quick Links
There are twice as many new shows and movies coming to Disney+ in October 2024 than there were in September. There are more episodes of Marvel Cinematic Universe shows in addition to Disney+ shows for its international audience. In addition to those originals, October will also see a lot of Disney Channel original TV series episodes being added to the Disney+ library so that families can rewatch episodes of their favorite shows.
The influx of serial programming in October follows a relatively light September for the streamer. The most popular content on Disney+ last month included the animated kids’ series Bluey and the new MCU series Agatha All Along. There’s also been a huge resurgence in interest in animated movies like Inside Out because of Inside Out 2. Disney+ also saw a lot of grownups streaming the new Hulu content that has been made available. The Descendants movies also saw an uptick in streamers thanks to The Rise of Red.

The Best Movies And Shows Arriving On Disney+ This Month
Agatha All Along (2024) – Weekly Episodes
Marvel’s latest series made its first three episodes available to stream in September. The series follows what happens to Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) after her experience with Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in WandaVision. Set three years after that series, Agatha All Along sees Agatha and a motley coven of witches walk the Witches Road. Though the trials on the Road can be fatal, the end of the Road could also give them what’s missing from their lives.
The series has proven intriguing for fans as it expands the ideas of magic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introduces new characters with mysterious backstories. “The Ballad of the Witches Road” has also proven to be a popular song following its introduction in the series.
While new episodes will air weekly throughout the month, the finale will air two episodes on October 30.
Ayla & The Mirrors (2024) – Weekly Episodes
Ayla & The Mirrors is one of the Spanish-language offerings from Disney+, created for the Latin American version of the streamer. Like Agatha All Along, the first batch of episodes landed on the streamer in September, but it will continue to air new episodes weekly throughout October.
The series follows the titular Ayla, a spoiled young woman from a wealthy family who suffers memory loss after a traumatic event. She ends up at a shelter where she becomes interested in the dance group, The Mirrors. Ayla also discovers that she has the ability to hear the feelings of those around her through musical visions.
Witches: The Truth Behind the Trials (2024) – October 3
Disney+ is the official streaming home of National Geographic, and this timely docuseries will air on the network as well as be added to both Disney+ and Hulu. October tends to be the witchiest month of the year for television as networks and streamers try to get viewers with an interest in Halloween to engage with stories of witches.
The six-part docuseries explores the history of witches and witch-hunters through interviews with historians. It also features dramatic reenactments of true stories with those stories coming from Germany, Sweden, Scotland, the US, and more. It traces just how and why so many women throughout history were accused of witchcraft and punished for crimes they didn’t commit.
Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (2024) – October 25
Disney+ has become known for adding concert movies and musical documentaries to the streamer over the last year. Everyone from Taylor Swift to The Beatles has had their music and behind-the-scenes footage land on the streamer. Now, it’s Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
This documentary takes fans behind the scenes of the band preparing for their 2023-24 world tour. It includes rehearsal footage, archival clips, backstage moments, and even discussions with Springsteen. At less than 2 hours long, it might not include quite as much footage as fans want, and it isn’t a concert, but it will definitely provide a fresh look at Springsteen and the musicians who work with him.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (2024) – October 30
One of the most anticipated new items on Disney+ is Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The new series is a sequel to Wizards of Waverly Place. Produced by original stars David Henrie and Selena Gomez, the series sees Henrie return to the role of Justin Russo as he begins training a young wizard whose powers are out of control.
Gomez is set to appear as a guest star in the series as Alex Russo, but so far, it’s not been announced if more actors from the original show will reprise their roles or not. The first eight episodes of the show will land on Disney+ on October 30 after the series premieres on Disney Channel.
Disney+ has also begun incorporating shows and movies previously only available on Hulu, so subscribers will also have access to those in October 2024.
