Young Jedi Adventures
sheds light on unexplored eras of
Star Wars.
A new preview clip for Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures sees young Jedi hopeful Nubs (Dee Bradley Baker) and friends learn about the tale of a long-lost Jedi hero. Set during the High Republic era, the animated children’s series follows Nubs and fellow younglings Kai Brightstar (Jamaal Avery Jr. and Jecobi Swain) and Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfield) as they walk the path of the Jedi, learning from legendary masters how to act as responsible, dedicated members of the Order. While set in its own corner of the galaxy, Young Jedi Adventures has had many crossovers with the High Republic novels.
With season 2 set to release on August 14 on Disney+, a new clip released by the official Star Wars X account has focused on lovable Pooba Nubs’ training. Check it out below:
Wandering the halls of a Jedi outpost, Nubs and friends find a carving depicting a legendary Pooba Jedi from the past rescuing a village from a large bat-like creature. Stumbling into a hidden room behind the wall, the trio finds the celebrated Jedi’s lightsaber, leading to a quest for answers from Jedi Master Yoda (Piotr Michael).
Who Is This Ancient Jedi Hero, & When Did They Live?
Star Wars‘ Pre-High Republic History Is Largely Unknown.
The Pooban Jedi may also shine a light on a still unexplored era of Star Wars that canon has yet to truly define.
Alongside being the first depiction of the Pooba species created for the series, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures season 2 may take the series through galactic history. With the carving and saber presumably being built long before the series, which is set largely 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, the Pooban Jedi hero may have lived within the events of Phase 2 of the publishing initiative 150 years prior. Alternatively, the Pooban Jedi may also shine a light on a still unexplored era of Star Wars that canon has yet to truly define.

Star Wars Debunks The Best Explanation For A New Hope’s Most Absurd Death Star Problem
Star Wars has debunked the most logical explanation for one of A New Hope’s most hilariously absurd Death Star design flaws.
Within the canon Star Wars timeline, the High Republic era is preceded by the Dawn of the Jedi and Old Republic eras. Though the former is largely unknown in canon, many elements within the Old Republic, such as certain individuals and events, resemble their Legends counterparts, though many of these glimpses are only seen through stories set later on in the timeline. As such, the mystery Pooban master may be another hero of this time established in stories set long after their time.
Regardless, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures’ latest clip sets up a lot of excitement for the show’s return. Alongside more lighthearted adventures set within the main High Republic period, there is interest to see early eras depicted on screen. No matter whether Nubs’ Pooban hero lived during the Night of Sorrows or the conflict between the Republic and Mandalorians, there is anticipation for the series’ galactic history lesson.
