The Master League Cup and the Scroll Cup: Great League Edition are here for players to battle in as part of the GO Battle League in Pokémon GO. They will take place from Tuesday, March 18, at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, March 25, at 8 p.m. Every week, the two different cups that trainers can participate in change to provide a different test for those taking part. These take place alongside the other regular events, such as the Bug Out 2025.
This week sees the return of The Master League Cup as well as the Scroll Cup: Great League Edition. Both have unique rules, which make a big difference to the meta and the Pokémon you can use. For the Master League Cup, you can use any Pokémon you want, regardless of the CP they are. However, the Scroll Cup has several limitations.

The Strongest Options Available
Out of all the current cups in Pokémon GO, The Master League has the most open meta, which is constantly changing. Legendary Pokémon remain vital to increasing your chances of success. The current best Master League team to use is Zygarde (Complete Forme), Palkia, and Solgaleo. Zygarde is currently considered one of the best individual Pokémon to use in the Master League.
The Dragon- and Ground-type has a wide variety of attacks, meaning they can be super-effective against the majority of other popular choices. Water- and Dragon-type Palkia remain another great option. It can lead in a battle for you and is one of the most powerful attackers available.

Another Classic Item Might Be Coming To Pokémon GO, According to Datamine
A new kind of item in Pokémon GO may have been leaked, and it could be a stat-boosting tool that fans of the series might be familiar with.
For a third team member, you can use personal preference, with many viable options, but I am currently using Psychic and Steel-type Solgaleo. It is an excellent foil for the other two, and its attacks are super-effective against a number of high-ranking Pokémon.
While only three types of Pokémon are allowed in The Scroll Cup, dual types are allowed, significantly increasing the options available.
The Scroll Cup: Great League Edition has two big limitations. Firstly, it follows the normal Great League rules with a max CP of 1500 for any Pokémon, but it is unique in that it only allows Dark-, Fighting-, or Water-type Pokémon.
One of the best teams to select is Azumarill, Sableye and Mopeko. All long-time options in the standard Great League are available for this cup. Azumarill has been one of the best PvP options since it was introduced to Pokémon GO, mixing its Water- and Fairy-type with great bulk, making it great against most of the meta.

10 Strongest Dragon-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO
Dragon-type Pokémon are some of the strongest in any Pokémon game, including Pokémon Go, making it even harder to narrow down the best of the best.
Dark- and Ghost-type Sableye is effective to switch to and is only weak against Fairy-types. While Electric- and Dark-type Morpeko is a great option to close out battles due to its high attack, making it possible to quickly KO opponents. Using the best dual-types in Pokemon GO is key in the Scroll Cup.
Plenty of Alternatives To Try
Master League has the widest pool of viable Pokémon you can use for any GO Battle League cup. Another option is to select Mewtwo, Dragonite, and Ho-Oh. All three are from the first two generations of the series, but all can go head-to-head with the with the newer power Pokémon. Mewtwo remains the strongest pure Psychic-type on offer while using Dragon-type attacks through Dragonite is vital for the meta.
For the Scroll Cup, there are also a number of other options that you can use to try and mix up your team.
The combination of Toxapex, Gastrodon, and Annihilape is a great potential team for The Scroll Cup. Toxapex has been ranked at the best individual option as a rare Poison- and Water- type. It has a very high defense, which can frustrate opposition teams at the end of a match as a closer.
Gastrodon is weak against Grass-types, which aren’t hugely featured in the meta, making them a viable option, especially when armed with mud-slap. Annihilape is a great option to balance the team as a Fighting- and Ghost-type with a high attack stat. The Master League Cup and The Scroll Cup: Great League Edition are tough competitions, but you can win more matches using the best teams in Pokémon GO.
