The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom follows previous Zelda games by providing players with plenty of content. In addition to the usual dungeons and boss battles, players can also claim and complete quests, such as the “Find The Flying Plant” side quest. In return for completing quests, players progress through the story and receive loot.
As Princess Zelda travels around Hyrule in Echoes of Wisdom, she’ll have the chance to complete both main and side quests. While the main quests are essential to the story, side quests are there to give players more things to do. Side quests aren’t mandatory but can be fun and often give decent rewards. One of the very first side quests players will come across is the “Find the Flying Plant” side quest.
How To Start The Find The Flying Plant Side Quest
Visit Suthorn Village To Start The Quest
Once you’ve beaten Seismic Talus and finished with the Suthorn Ruins dungeon in Echoes of Wisdom, return to Suthorn Village. Visit the house in the lower left of the area and speak to the villager there. The villager, an old man, will explain that he wants to cheer his wife up, especially with what has been going on with the rifts. To do that, he wants to give her a rare gift.

He explains that he found a giant flying plant after going on a walk. If this sounds familiar, that’s because the villager is referring to the giant spinning plant monster called the Peahat. If you have one already, you can summon the Peahat to show him and complete the side quest. However, if you don’t have the Peahat, you’ll need to find one first.
How To Find The Flying Plant & Complete The Quest
Find The Flying Plant By Entering Suthorn Forest Cave
The Peahat is located within the Suthorn Forest Cave in Echoes of Wisdom. To get there, head south of the Suthorn Forest Warp Waypoint. The cave is in an area that is inaccessible by foot. Use old beds or trampolines to reach it from the west or drop down from the north by the Waypoint. The cave will have two lit braziers on either side.
Burn the nearby grass patches to get a chance to find hearts or rupees.
Enter the cave, and you’ll encounter the Peahat monster, the spinning (or flying) plant monster that the villager wants to show his wife. Immediately summon your own echo monsters to distract the Peahat so it doesn’t spin in your direction. You’ll likely need to summon multiple, as it’ll easily take out echoes with its spinning attacks.
The best time to attack the Peahat is when it stops spinning. I used the Spear Moblin echo to beat the Peahat since the Spear Moblin can attack from a distance. Alternatively, you can throw rock echoes at the Peahat.
Once you defeat the spinning plant monster, you can scan it to learn the echo. With the Peahat Echo in your Echoes of Wisdom arsenal, it’s time to return to Suthorn Village to complete the “Find the Flying Plant” side quest. Head back to the house in the lower left corner of the village. Summon the Peahat in front of the villager.
The villager will be shocked, delighted, and terrified. What he assumed was a cool flying plant is none other than a monster, and there’s no way he could give such a gift to his wife. Upon realizing that the Peahat is not the gift he was looking for, he is disappointed about having you go out of your way to obtain a gift he is no longer interested in.
Overhearing your conversation with the villager, his wife enters the scene and she and her husband share a sweet conversation. The couple rewards you with a Mighty Crystal as thanks for your hard work. You have completed the “Find the Flying Plant” side quest.
“Find the Flying Plant” is one of many side quests in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The Mighty Crystal you received in return for completing the quest can be used to upgrade Princess Zelda’s Swordfighter form. While side quests like the “Find the Flying Plant” are optional, they’re worth it to receive more Mighty Crystals. Plus, they extend the gameplay by giving you things to do outside of the main storyline. With plenty of side quests to do, you’ll rarely be bored as you travel across Hyrule.
