The Golden Bachelorette runner-up Guy Gansert looked back at his role on the long-running soap opera General Hospital, amid signs that he might be the star of The Golden Bachelor season 2. Guy, 66, recently retired from his job as an ER doctor in Reno, Nevada, and jumped at the chance to make an appearance on General Hospital after his time on The Golden Bachelorette season 1. He played Jeffrey Beckett, a wildlife journalist who, like Guy, used to be an ER doctor. Guy shared scenes with powerhouse actresses Cynthia Watros as Nina Reeves and Maura West as Ava Jerome.
Guy reflected on his General Hospital role, and admitted that his acting skills could use some improvement, but he very much enjoyed his time on the show.
In an Instagram post, Guy reflected on his General Hospital role, and admitted that his acting skills could use some improvement, but he very much enjoyed his time on the show. Guy shared a carousel of photos of himself posing with Cynthia, Maura, and Laura Wright, who plays Carly Spencer.
Guy captioned the post, “I can’t thank General Hospital for this opportunity. They were so wonderful to me and so professional. Maybe my acting skills can be approved on, but I had one rehearsal and it was GO! If given the chance, I will be so prepared. I will cherish my time forever!”

What Guy Gansert Admitting Acting Skills Need To Improve Means
Guy Wants Another Chance On General Hospital
Although Guy admitted that his acting skills need some work, his revelation that he only had one rehearsal before his General Hospital scenes is remarkable considering that he had no prior acting experience. He thinks that he would be much more prepared if he were given the chance to return to the show, which indicates that he’d be open to doing more acting. Guy really seems to have been bitten by the acting bug, so he might even choose to take acting lessons to improve his craft.
Our Take On Guy Gansert Admitting Acting Skills Need To Improve
Guy Might Be Better Suited For Unscripted TV
I watched Guy’s General Hospital debut because I’ve been watching the show for my entire life, and I think that he did a great job and was a success, considering how little time he had to prepare for his role. He held his own in his scenes with Cynthia and Maura, who are incredible actresses. I can’t even imagine how intimidating it must’ve been for Guy to appear on such an established show with such amazing actresses. If he truly wanted to return to General Hospital, his role could easily be expanded, and he could interact with both actresses regularly.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
However, I still think that Guy is better suited for unscripted TV, and that he’d be better off becoming the star of The Golden Bachelor season 2, where he can be himself. On General Hospital, when Guy’s character was asked if he had someone special in his life, he responded, “I have this feeling I’m going to meet someone special soon. And I’ve learned to trust my feelings.” Although nothing has been confirmed, I took this as a subtle hint that Guy might be the next Golden Bachelor, and I hope that I’m right.
