If you need to get some extra gaming time in, then today’s Spelling Bee puzzle is a good way to go. The puzzle is a good one, with some depth to it as you try to figure out what words you can make from the letters you are given. It’s a brain-teaser if you’re willing to give it a good go, but you also don’t have to get all the words for each given day if you don’t want to. You can just get a score for however many you can think of and go about your merry way.
Today’s Connections Category Hints
APRIL 02 #661
If you need to get some hints but don’t want any spoilers, then this section is for you. I found the middle two categories the hardest to solve, as I didn’t end up having to solve the last one. There are a lot of reasons why that is the case today, but it mainly has to do with when you approach each category, as that will change what words are available to you. If you’re looking for those hints, check out these clues:
- One category is about things that are done without too much thought behind them
- One category is about words that describe what a thing might be
- One category is about four things that share a common name
- One category is about four words that have a shared feature that has to do with sound

I don’t think I have heard “caprice” outside of music before, so that’s fun. I love being able to get new words, and it’s one of my favorite parts of playing Connections every day. I do like this category a lot in general. Particularly the word “lark,” it’s just such a good word. I did get this one first, as I was able to see from IMPULSE and WHIM that this was the direction I needed to go in. FANCY actually took me the longest to find, as my eyes just sort of skimmed over it.
Green Answers: Revealed & Explained
I got this one second, as I saw KIND and TYPE, and was able to figure out the rest from there. I also love the word “ilk” so today’s puzzle was just a good one for me. It made it possible to get to the end of the puzzle without as much stress since I got the first two a little easier than I did the past couple of days. It’s nice to get to the end of the puzzle without feeling that frustration, but I did have a hard time with the next two categories.

I got lucky with this one I think, because I did think about ROBIN Williams and made a stab in the dark that that was what the puzzle was going for. It happened to be correct, but it was much more of a lucky coincidence than intentional on my part. Sometimes, it just does take a little bit of instinct, and thinking too hard is actually worse for you than just letting your instincts take over. It’s not always recommended, but sometimes it works.

HERB |

READING |
It was funny because I actually did keep saying “HERB” to myself in different pronunciations. I didn’t get it with the other ones right away. It’s also ironic because the summer I lived in England we passed by READING quite often, so I knew how it was supposed to be pronounced there by sheer coincidence. As far as I know, the US does not have an equivalent – or I haven’t run into it.
