If you are looking to complete your Connections puzzle today, you can get hints to move past the frustrating bits and finish it off. I liked this puzzle, as it was hard enough that it forced me to really consider my choices, while I never felt like I was desperate or scrambling for answers. That’s not always the case, as while I practice every day, I am not always able to solve it. Figuring this one out felt fun, though, and now I can give you all of the hints.
If you are looking for a different type of puzzle that still involves words and letters, you should check out the daily Spelling Bee puzzle. This puzzle has a wide array of possible solutions, as you always get a new set of letters that you can turn into a handful of words. You will have to use one of the letters in every word, and the words cannot be shorter than four letters, but it is a fun challenge to figure out every day.

If you are looking for some hints to finish this puzzle off, you can get some from me in this section. There are some difficult ones here if you don’t know what you’re looking at, so the category names are particularly important. Context is always important, but I think that’s even more true in this one. There are a lot of potential stumbling points in this one, but I have four clues to help you get through the end of the puzzle:
- One category is about what Aurora did to end up asleep
- One category is about words you might use in one particular situation
- One category is about proper nouns but not about names
- One category is about words that are pronounced a different way than you would typically believe when you look at it

I got this one first after noticing POKE and JAB, which made it click in my head. I got STICK fairly soon after, but it took me a moment to clock PIERCE. That was mainly due to me thinking about PIERCE as a name and not a verb. However, once I realized where my mistake was, I was able to finish up the category and proceed onward to the rest of the words.

This one took me a long time to figure out, and it was ROGER that eventually led me to the right answer. I thought it might belong with some of the other names, but once I realized there were only three names left, I dismissed that possibility. I then was able to figure out what the rest of this category was, but NEGATIVE took the longest for me to add in. Luckily, I only missed out on one guess before I was able to get to this category and finish it.

I got this one second, where my private primary school came in handy for knowing where these all are. I nearly had DANIEL with the rest of the names in a category at one point, but it was not the right thing to do with this puzzle. After that, however, I looked at the words again, and it hit me like a lightning bolt. I was able to quickly finish this one up, and I moved on to what, at the time, was the remaining two categories.

I know enough about Irish to know how SIOBHAN is pronounced, so when I saw this I knew something was up. I did have it with the other names for a little while, but when it became clear that wasn’t a category, I put it to the side for later. I did come back to this one once all the other categories were solved, making it easy to finish it up and get it over with.
