Sometimes fortune is not your friend when it comes to the latest Connections puzzle, but to counteract that we have the clues you need to finish solving it. Sometimes it takes a village, and perhaps having a friend work together with you could help solve the puzzle every day. However, if none of your friends seem interested, we are still here to be your friend and help you get this puzzle done.

Another game that will test your fortune is the NYT’s Tiles game. This game is all about pattern recognition, as it requires you to solve the puzzle two tiles at a time. However, those two tiles must be strung together with another tile to keep a streak going, so you have to pay attention to multiple patterns going on at once.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

This category I actually solved last, which is kind of telling. Only FORTUNE and MINT suggest the idea of money, in my opinion, while BUNDLE and PILE could be in reference to a large amount of anything. To me, the two feel very separate, and it felt strange that this was supposed to be the easy category today. Still, at least I managed to solve the puzzle, which is what is important at the end of the day.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

This category felt like the easiest one today, as the words felt much more cohesive and connected than the others. It helps that I use most of these in conversation, as I do love a good TIDBIT, and they are often fun things to share with others. These words feel similar enough that this feels like it should have been the yellow category.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

This one felt easier as well, just because these are all things associated with the concept of DINOSAUR at this point in cultural history. Likely due to the movie Jurassic Park that the category specifically references. Even if these things are not true to life, the idea of MOSQUITO and AMBER being wrapped up in paleontology is intuitive for that reason. It helps that I played a lot of the Lego Jurassic Park game.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

It felt obvious to me that AMETHYST and LAVENDER went together, and after that looking at my remaining options I figured EGGPLANT was also purple. Figuring out the last one was a little harder, and it ended up being more of a guess that got me to GRIMACE.

Checking my phone, that emoji is not purple and the expression does not tend to be associated with the word, so a quick Google search later led me to one of the old McDonald’s mascots, truly things of nightmares. So thank you, Connections, for awakening childhood trauma best left forgotten.

Other Games Like Connections

If you like me also had to recover from the trauma, perhaps a different more relaxing puzzle is the thing for both of us. I suggest Worldle, simply because it has nothing to do with scary purple monsters.
