What Is The Beast In Me About?
The Beast In Me Follows A Reclusive Protagonist
The Beast In Me follows the story of an author named Aggie (Danes) who dips out of the public eye after the tragic death of her young son. Following the tragedy, she is subject to the worst form of writer’s block, seemingly stalled in her place. Rhys comes into the story as Nile Jarvis, a man who buys the house next door to Aggie. Aggie becomes fascinated by Nile, who is a real estate mogul accused of his wife’s disappearance, and makes it such that Aggie might just find her creative inspiration.
According to the release, the arrival of Nile sends Aggie in “a game of cat and mouse” wherein she desperately searches for the truth surrounding Niles and his past. In addition to O’Brien, Danes, Rotter, Gordon, Pearle, and Campos, the executive producers for The Beast in Me include Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Jodie Foster, and Caroline Baron. 20th Century Television will be the studio for The Beast In Me, which will be a limited series for Netflix.
The Beast in Me‘s premise seems to promise a thrilling, and perhaps terrifying mystery story. Danes’ career history makes her the perfect choice for the lead, as her role in Homeland shows her propensity for high-stakes thrillers with a mystery element. Rhys too is from the Peak TV era and has been nominated for five Emmys. This high-caliber cast and notable producing team, combined with the intriguing plot, is a great sign for The Beast in Me as it continues its development.
