All Of UFC 5’s New Alter Egos
These Alter Egos Were Chosen By Fan Votes
The most requested new Alter Ego coming to UFC 5 via EA Sports‘ vote is Conor McGregor (UFC 205). This Alter Ego represents McGregor from 2016, the year he became the first-ever fighter to hold the championship in two different weight classes. His performance in UFC 205 in particular is held up as one of the best performances of his career. McGregor was the community-requested Alter Ego.
The Alter Ego with the second most votes was Charles Oliveira (UFC 262). This Alter Ego is Oliveira from his 2021 win of the UFC Lightweight Championship, where, during the fight, Oliveira won with a Technical Knockout, making him the fighter with the most finishes in UFC history at the time. This version of Oliveira was submitted by king12diaz.
The remaining two Alter Egos are Rampage Jackson (UFC 75) who was submitted by Troydan and Daniel Cormier (UFC 226) submitted by Nebality. Jackson’s Alter Ego captures his 2007 win against Dan Henderson, the Pride Middleweight Champion. Cormier’s Alter Ego is from his 2018 Heavyweight Championship win against Stipe Miocic, which made Cormier the second ever Champ Champ in the UFC.
EA Implied This Vote Was Just The First One
In its announcement for the new Alter Egos, EA Sports called this event the “inaugural” fan vote. That could imply that the developer is planning on holding similar contests in the future, which could add more Alter Egos to the game. Nothing is official yet, so it’s unclear if any future votes would include Alter Egos that were not chosen in the first round, or would be all new fighters.
Unlike many of EA Sports’ other titles, the UFC games are not annual releases. There was a three-year gap between UFC 4 and UFC 5. This means there could potentially be a few more years for UFC 5 to receive meaningful updates before a new game is released.
