If Samantha was being deceitful about her intentions and had, in fact, gone on Farmer Wants A Wife to further her influencer career, she wouldn’t be the first dating show contestant to do so. Many reality stars take to social media to capitalize on the fame from their television appearances. It’s very possible that Samantha actually came on the show to get more social media followers, which would lead to more brand deals and bigger opportunities.

Samantha intrigued Farmer John from the moment they met during speed dating in episode one. Although they learned they had different interests, with Samantha caring deeply about football and John not being a fan of the sport, they still hit it off.
Because her style of flirting was a little bit mean, something John liked, he selected her for the first date.
The first date is where things started to go south for Samantha. John believed the two were connecting, and he decided to lean in for a first-date kiss. Samantha pulled back; she was not interested in kissing the farmer on camera. As she explained it, she didn’t want to kiss anyone on camera if they ultimately didn’t get married, because she wouldn’t want her future husband to see that footage. John felt embarrassed at the moment but eventually understood where Samantha was coming from.
Audiences, on the other hand, were a bit more confused by Samantha’s actions. Samantha couldn’t possibly know after one date if she and John would or would not get married someday. If they do end up together, then kissing each other on camera wouldn’t matter. Plus, her future husband will hopefully understand that she’s kissed other men in the past. It’s possible Samantha was making up an excuse to get out of kissing John without hurting his feelings or causing him to send her home.
