The history of Devin Rowell’s leg is one of the biggest mysteries in American Primeval, so here is what the show reveals about what happened to it and why he is wearing a brace. From the moment that Devin is first seen in American Primeval, he is wearing a brace, with him clearly having some sort of disability throughout the show. However, this isn’t the end of the circumstances surrounding Devin’s leg in American Primeval, with his injury getting much worse by the end of the show.

Devin Rowell is one of the main characters in American Primeval, with the new Netflix series following Devin and his mother Sara as they join a guide and travel across the frontier in an attempt to find Devin’s father. Devin and Sara conflict with their guide Isaac throughout the show, with Isaac seemingly seeing Devin as a burden in many instances. Thus, Devin could have had his leg injured by an animal, a fall, or even an attacker, leading to the brace that is seen throughout the series.

Things only get worse for Devin near the end of American Primeval, as his leg sustains another injury. Devin is unable to walk, and to make matters worse, his wound becomes infected, meaning that the gang has to hole up in a cabin.
