Reaching Perfection in Stardew Valley is no easy task, and anyone who manages to do so will get some well-deserved bragging rights in addition to some unique endgame content that most players will never see. Perfection is difficult to reach in Stardew because of the various tasks involved that can take players years to complete – both in-game years and real-life years for slow players like me who have clocked over 250 hours and still aren’t even close to Perfection. This rare achievement is a worthwhile challenge for truly committed Stardew players.
To see your Perfection status, you’ll need to progress to Qi’s Walnut Room on Ginger Island after collecting 100 Golden Walnuts, where inside you’ll find a Perfection Tracker that conveniently shows you how far along you are with each individual required task, such as total Fish caught, Cooking Recipes completed, Produce shipped, etc. If you’re considering going for Perfection in Stardew Valley for the first time, it might be useful to know what you’re going to be up against and what the eventual rewards will be for your efforts.
What Is Perfection In Stardew Valley?
Reaching Perfection Involves Crafting All Items, Cooking All Recipes, & More
Perfection is a difficult and rare accomplishment in Stardew Valley that only 0.8% of players reach, likely because it requires completing some of the most time-consuming tasks in the game in their entirety. To reach 100% Perfection, you’ll have to put in some serious legwork and complete all the following tasks:
- Ship one of every foraging and farming item
- Build every Obelisk type on your farm
- Eradicate all monsters through the Adventurer’s Guild
- Reach maximum relationship level with every character
- Find every Golden Walnut on Ginger Island
- Build the Gold Clock after finishing the “Goblin Problem” quest
- Find every Stardrop
- Catch every fish
- Reach Level 10 in every skill
- Craft all items
- Cook every recipe
Each one of these tasks is incredibly time-consuming, and it’s no wonder most players don’t even attempt to reach true Perfection after seeing what it entails. While many of these checklist items appear to be straightforward, looks can be deceiving. For example, reaching the maximum relationship level with each character seems simple enough until you realize that it will take you at least until your second year on the farm due to Kent being away serving time in the military.

Everything That Happens When You Achieve Perfection In Stardew Valley
Gain Access To The Summit
The first and most significant thing you’ll earn for completing all the above tasks and reaching Perfection is access to the Summit. When you wake up on the day after Perfection is reached, you’ll receive a couple unique messages. The first is a text bar that reads: “You feel it in your heart: somewhere, somehow… Grandpa is beaming with pride. The legacy of XYZ Farm is eternal.” The second message you’ll get reads “A rumbling sound was heard in the distance…” This indicates that you’ve unlocked The Summit, an otherwise inaccessible area north of the Railroad.

How To Unlock The Witch’s Hut In Stardew Valley
The Witch’s Hut in Stardew Valley is locked behind a series of quests for the Wizard that involve an ex-wife, a Goblin, and mayonnaise.
Once you visit The Summit, you’ll experience the endgame cut-scene alongside your spouse (if you have one), which involves most of the mystical characters and creatures (i.e., Krobus, the Witch, Dwarf, etc.) flying around the cliffside. Unlock The Statue Of True Perfection

Statue Of True Perfection, a furniture item that can be placed anywhere and will produce a single Prismatic Shard every day. Prismatic Shards are extremely useful in the late game for enchanting items at the Dwarfish Forge, but can also be used to unlock the 
Galaxy Sword in the Calico Desert.
Unlock Golden Chickens & Eggs, A Mysterious Hat, & A Stardrop Carving
In addition to the above, you’ll also unlock Golden Chickens (and thereby Golden Chicken Eggs), which will either be available at Marnie’s Ranch or in Qi’s Walnut Room, or via a random Golden Witch event or Fishing Treasure Chest. Golden Chickens and Eggs are much more valuable than regular chickens. Further, reaching Perfection will allow you to pick up the 
??? (hat) by interacting with a monkey in Volcano Caldera. This is a unique hat that depicts ConcernedApe’s profile picture, the creator of Stardew Valley. Finally, reaching Perfection will result in a Stardrop carving above Grandpa’s Shrine.
Is It Worth Achieving Perfection?
Hard Work Pays Off, Sort Of
Ultimately, achieving the elusive Perfection accolade is extremely time-consuming and will only be worth it for the most dedicated players. Perfection is not really about the rewards as much as it is about the process, and it gives players tangible goals that can be extremely satisfying after putting in the effort to complete each task. Some players will be more satisfied with making Grandpa truly proud than they will be excited about any individual reward, while others are only in it to be part of the 0.8% club.
