Engineered to connect with people’s souls, Adam Warlock is a Strategist character in Marvel Rivals whose abilities allow him to heal his team and offer generous support. With one of the strongest Ultimate skills in the game, Adam Warlock’s connection to Quantum Magic makes them incredibly strong. However, the abilities of Adam Warlock can be hard to use, despite seeming straightforward at first.
Unlike Duelist characters with high DPS or Vanguards who act as sustainable tanks, Strategists like Adam Warlock are designed differently. Warlock and other strategists, like Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals, have very low health and average damage output. Adam’s role in a team is not primarily to score eliminations, but rather to support his team with healing and buffs that help them survive fights longer.
All Adam Warlock Abilities
Combine Fast Attacks With Rebounding Heals
Adam Warlock has some of the fewest skills among any character, making him a very easy hero to understand. That being said, the precision required to use these abilities consistently can make Warlock tougher to play than other Strategists. For example, the primary attack of Loki in Marvel Rivals deals an AoE burst that’s easy to hit targets with, while Adam Warlock’s attack is a narrow projectile that requires good aim to hit consistently.

Which Marvel Rivals character is currently the most “broken”?
There are so many great heroes and villains to choose from in Marvel Rivals. However, some characters are considered to be way too powerful and more “broken” than others. I feel as though Iron Fist sits at the top of the list of characters that desperately need a nerf, though Jeff the Land Shark isn’t far behind (as cute as he is).
Below is a table describing all of Adam Warlock’s abilities, including passive ones that activate without your input:
Ability |
Ability Type |
Cooldown |
Description |
---|---|---|---|
Quantum Magic |
Primary Attack |
15 Blasts (Reload) |
Launch quantum energy in precise beams to deal damage. |
Cosmic Cluster |
Secondary Attack |
15 Blasts (Reload) |
Using the same ammo source as your primary attack, gather quantum energy into a cluster and then swiftly launch it at the enemy. |
Avatar Life Stream |
Basic Ability |
2 seconds (2 Charges) |
Target an ally for a bouncing stream of healing energy, which also heals Adam Warlock upon casting; self-targets if no allies are nearby. |
Soul Bond |
Basic Ability |
30 seconds |
Unite the souls of allies in a bond, granting Healing Over Time and distributing damage across the bond. |
Regenerative Cocoon |
Passive |
105 seconds |
Once Adam Warlock’s body perishes, he can freely move as a soul and reforge his body at a chosen spot. During this state, you can descend or ascend into the air or cancel the move at any time. |
Karmic Revival |
Ultimate |
N/A |
Awaken the karma of allies to revive them from death. Allies revived have lower health but enjoy a brief period of invincibility. |
The basic attacks of Adam Warlock are incredibly precise, dealing very little damage when hitting the body of an enemy. Both Quantum Magic and Cosmic Cluster deal greater damage when landing critical hits against enemies with headshots. Similar to Hawkeye or Black Widow in Marvel Rivals, the greater your aim with Adam Warlock, the greater damage output you can get from the character.
Being able to score eliminations as Adam Warlock makes him a great asset to any team, especially when you run a team comp that features very few Duelist characters.
It is worth noting that Adam Warlock’s Regenerative Cocoon passive ability only works when you choose it to. Canceling the skill when it triggers automatically will cause you to die and respawn back at your team’s base as if you were eliminated normally. By not activating the ability, you can prevent the cooldown from taking place and revive yourself in a better situation later.
How To Use Adam Warlock’s Ultimate
Choose The Right Time To Resurrect Allies
Karmic Revival is perhaps the strongest Ultimate move in the game, rivaling even the menace Jeff the Land Shark’s in Marvel Rivals. Any revival mechanic in a hero shooter will be strong, as it gives a team two chances to attack a contested area. With that in mind, the strength of Adam Warlock’s Ultimate makes it much harder to use, as most enemy players will be aware of how dangerous it is.
You want to use Adam Warlock’s Ultimate around corners or places where enemies can’t reach it. This way, the revival can’t be interrupted, as the Ultimate goes away when Adam Warlock dies during a match. Communicating with your team is also recommended, as many players won’t be aware you’re about to revive them unless you tell them first.
Anyone revived from Adam Warlock’s Ultimate retains the same cooldown on all the abilities they had when dying. Characters are revived with low health, but slight invincibility to reach health packs or receive healing from Warlock.
Adam Warlock’s Ultimate is great for turning the tide of fights, giving your team another opportunity to fight after dying. With enough coordination, this Ultimate can keep your group on points for longer, help you make a final push on an objective, and help in a variety of other game-changing situations.
Best Team Composition For Adam Warlock
Give Other Characters Your Revival Ability
Certain characters work well with Adam Warlock on the same team, including:
- Mantis
- Star-Lord
- Groot
- Doctor Strange
Mantis is one of the other strongest Strategists in the game, so having her and Adam Warlock on the same team can give your squad unrivaled support. However, the main reason to pair these two characters is due to the Team-Up ability in Marvel Rivals they share with Star-Lord. When these three characters are together, Adam Warlock enhances the rebirth power of Star-Lord and Mantis, giving them access to a Regenerative Cocoon.

Sweep the floor with the competition as you boost into battle as Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals with a strong DPS and a great Ultimate ability.
Giving Mantis and Star-Lord ways to revive themselves after dying can be ridiculously powerful, especially since Adam Warlock retains his own Cocoon through this Team-Up. When combined with his Ultimate, your team will be able to return to life again and again during a match.
Vanguards are excellent characters to pair with Adam Warlock since their high health pool makes them perfect for his Soul Bond or Avatar Life Stream abilities. Having a tank with higher health means that the Soul Bond damage distribution barely affects them. At the same time, Vanguard characters who like to group up with teams, like Groot or Doctor Strange, can allow more characters to be impacted by Life Stream’s bouncing healing.
Best Tips, Tricks & Strategies For Winning
Stay Behind Your Team And Use Abilities Carefully
Without any mobility skills, Adam Warlock is a stationary character whose best strategy is to stay with his team and offer support from afar. Even though abilities like Avatar Life Stream can heal Adam, he’s very susceptible to being attacked by characters like Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals, who can eliminate him quickly. As a result, you need to realize how much of a target you are as this strong Strategist and be ready for enemies to target you.
One of the biggest mistakes Adam Warlock players make is using his revival Cocoon ability in the wrong place. Wait to use your Regenerative Cocoon for when your team is near, as they can support your revival in the same way you do when using Warlock’s Ultimate. If your entire team gets wiped trying to contest an objective, it’s better to regroup with them than waste a regeneration.
When you enter the Regenerative Cocoon astral state, you have
seven seconds
to choose whether you want to revive or cancel the passive and return to your team’s spawn.
Another useful tip for Adam Warlock is that your Soul Bond ability attaches to more allies when they are grouped. The more bonds that are made with this ability, the more damage is distributed between multiple characters to reduce damage. For example, if you chain three characters with Soul Bond, it’ll make the damage value of a headshot be distributed three ways rather than only being applied to one character.
Try to stay alive to prolong your revival and use healing abilities at the right time. Unlike other Strategists, his skills have limited charges and longer cooldowns, making it harder to know when you should be using certain abilities. Adam Warlock is a character that requires some trial and error in Marvel Rivals, but their unorthodox abilities create a powerful character if you can master his playstyle.
