This isn’t Dylan’s first time experiencing the bitter taste of rejection and abandonment. His mother abandoned him as an infant. His grandfather, who took Dylan in, took his own life. When Eddie stepped into Dylan’s life, he disappeared just as suddenly while on his path as Marvel’s King in Black. As Venom, Eddie previously left Dylan, once to spare his son from the misfortune that follows the symbiote. Those moments leave harsh marks on a person’s mind, especially a child’s, and Dylan has had enough of it.

Marvel: How the Venom War Has Changed Symbiote Lore For Good
Marking the end of an era that began with the symbiote god Knull’s arrival on Earth, symbiote lore will be forever changed following the Venom War.
Fortunately, for the time being, Mary Jane Watson and her partner Paul Rabin have taken in Dylan, giving the human-symbiote hybrid a home. While this is a heartening blessing for the young Brock, it won’t be enough to dull his rage. Unfortunately, Dylan may not have the resources to enact his brand of vengeance any time soon. While the Klyntar consider him an immaculate Messiah, Dylan’s latent symbiotic powers are often locked without a symbiote to bond with. With Alchemax’s involvement in cleaning up the Venom War’s mess, Dylan’s symbiotic allies might not be around to help either.
Dylan May Feel Alone, But He Has All the Power He Needs
Eddie Brock’s Heir
With or without a symbiote, Dylan is still considered a Prince in Black, an heir to Knull and Eddie’s legacy. While the Living Abyss has long been purged from Dylan’s body, his latent connection to all symbiotes remains. The hybrid teen can track and control symbiotes at will, meaning that he’s bound to find a partner sooner rather than later. When bonded, Dylan Brock will once again be reborn as the symbiote god Codex, capable of influencing every aspect of a symbiote’s existence. With all of that power and the rage of an abandoned teenager, Dylan is an unmatched threat.
Whoever the new host of Venom is, they had better be on the watch for the inevitable rise of Dylan Brock’s villainous era.
Regardless of his reasoning, Venom left Dylan behind. The symbiote knows better than anybody how that act would tear at his son’s heart. Venom left Dylan behind to save him from the Eganrac, but three months of no contact and a new host have done damage to the teen’s mind. The Brocks aren’t strangers to embracing violence and villainy when the world turns against them, and Dylan certainly has the power to back his rage. Whoever the new host of Venom is, they had better be on the watch for the inevitable rise of Dylan Brock’s villainous era.
